Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Cheval Blanc Randheli

Famous for its extensive collection of limited edition models, Hublot starts the Year of the Horse right with the Oceanographic 4000 Cheval Blanc Randheli Limited Edition. Designed expressly for the recently opened Maldivian resort on the unspoiled Noonu Atoll, this robust sports watch blends stylish sophistication with infallible functionality. As a dive watch, it’s primary essence is to perform even under the most gruelling conditions. But above the water, it pairs just as flawlessly with a delicious piña colada.

As an ambassadorial product of the Cheval Blanc Maison – cheval blanc being French for white horse – this watch naturally has to embody the resort’s colour codes. Its hyper-aggressive oversized case (48mm) is surprisingly light and comfortable thanks to the use of titanium as opposed to stainless steel or gold. Additional material on the bezel had also been removed so as to shave off a few extra grams. Its luminescent indices are in yellow, but not just any random tone. Rather it is the exact shade that Cheval Blanc Randheli uses – a cheery lemony yellow that goes perfectly with the turquoise waters so representative of the Maldives.

But try not to be fooled by the watch’s sleek appearance. It is every bit an extreme dive watch capable of depths of up to a death-defying 4,000m – yes, metres, not feet. Indeed this is an amazing technical achievement, and the Oceanographic 4000 took Hublot no fewer than 18 months of research, development and testing.

Complete with a white rubber strap, there will only be 20 watches produced. But what makes this watch even rarer is that it is sold exclusively at the Cheval Blanc Randheli, so only guests of the resort and die-hard Hublot fans need apply.
