With untouched concrete arches and blush pink walls, the newest Budapest bar and restaurant is the picture perfect set for leisure, dining and mini impromptu Instagram photoshoots!

The Hungarian Capital’s Picturesque Buhairest Bar and Restaurant

With terracotta tiling and a grey marble bar, the Buhairest is a helluva Instagram-friendly venue, located in the heart of the Hungarian capital. Featuring graphic polka-dot floors and a ginormous installation by American artist Brian Donnelly, who is professionally known as Kaws – the Buhairest lies within an early 20th century building, once occupied by textile manufacturers.

Conceptualized by interior designer, Roman Plyus who specializes in the beautification of residential and public spaces, the Buhairest bar and restaurant spans 350 square meters, offering a dramatic yet welcoming ambience, juxtaposed with vintage chairs by Pierre Jeanneret, terracotta-colored panels, round wicker seats, a bulbous fireplace, central high-tables and circular wall sconces which emanate a russet hue, inspired by the building’s brick façade.

Offering both communal and intimate seating arrangements, Roman Plyus has incorporated sofas and armchairs upholstered in a creamy boucle fabric, plus textural contrasts in the form of beige plastered walls and deliberate geometric light fixtures. With its second level, easily accessed through a mysterious stairwell located by the bar, the Buhairest retains the nation’s most populous city’s grandeur and glamour with a hint of innovatively whimsical design and art.
