In 2014, activist-investor Barry Rosenstein set a record for spurling $147 million on an 18-acre waterfront property in East Hampton, the most money ever spent on a home in America. Seems like the record may be soon broken.

At $175 million, the Jule Pond is the most expensive home in East Hampton.

The upmarket property is located on the luxe side of Hamptons, on the east coast, bordered by lakes and the Atlantic Ocean to the rear. Currently marketed by Bespoke Real Estate, this massive, 20,000-square-foot compound is claimed to offer some of the best panoramic view of its surroundings.

Named Jule Pond, the property has a pedigree  — it was once a piece of Henry Ford’s 235-acre “Fordune” retreat. The holiday abode boasts of 12 bedrooms, a sweeping 48-foot-long living room, a family room, a game room, recreation rooms, and two opulent master suites.

The interior of the Jule Pond adorned with exquisite molded ceilings with traditional chandeliers, Italian marble fireplaces, French parquet floors, and antique bathroom fixtures.

Apart from the spectacular interior designs, the house accommodates a separate carriage space with three bedrooms and one-and-one-half bathrooms, and a detached six-car garage.

The garden area houses a pool and an exclusive entertainment deck complete with a hot tub, a full kitchen and a basketball court. According to Bespoke Real Estate’s Michael Cantwell, the house also features the largest piece of private ocean frontage in the Hamptons.

Meanwhile, the second-highest price on the market, the 1080 Meadow Lane, is asking $150 million. Although the Southampton estate sits on a slightly cosier 14 acres of prime beachfront, it offers two houses, with the larger one at 12,000 square feet. Its most attractive selling point however, is the two private oceanside fairways with golf houses which are one of Hamptons’ most coveted amenities.
