Ferrari fans around the world have been forced to wait a little longer for the official arrival of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

The park announced via its Facebook page that the soft opening date set for this week had been postponed out of respect to Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Abu Dhabi‘s neighboring emirate Ras Al Khaimah.

Although the official page of the nearby Yas Marina Circuit has said that the park’s opening will now take place on Thursday, November 4, Ferrari World’s call center confirmed that the final opening date was still under discussion.

The news has left some fans frustrated, with one user commenting, “With the height of respect to the Sheikh, it’s slightly mad to completely postpone the opening by a week at a few hours notice…”.

Others commended the decision, saying “Personally, I don’t blame them for the decision, which I am sure was the correct and respectful one.”

Members of the media, who had experienced the park before the passing of Sheikh Saqr were impressed at the scale and attractions of the endeavor, including the world’s fastest roller coaster which requires the use of safety goggles.

The 40-acre (16 ha) park will be the world’s only Ferrari theme park and the largest attraction of its kind.
