Anthony Vaccarello had a vision of collaboration in mind for the Maison’s Rive Droite label’s “37.2” summer collection, opting to give the limelight to brands that are experts in what they do.

Imbuing the playful spirit of summer, the collection boasts an impressive list of collaborations from brands who personify effortless elegance: portable speakers by Lexon for lazing by the beach, a reloadable film camera from Lomography for those scenic summer snapshots, New Era caps and Baccarat glasses to accessorise your travel-ready summer outfits with a pop of colour and not to mention, UWL surfboards and Beau Lake paddle boards for a touch of luxury sport.

The collection also includes a plethora of Saint Laurent lifestyle pieces made specifically for enjoying the beach, from water-friendly Rive Gauche towel bags to a sultry strapless python-print one-piece. Alongside the collection is also the new Saint Laurent Calypso bag — a perfectly sized lambskin purse bag with a leather and chain crossbody strap that can be worn doubled for shoulder carry, adorned with the Cassandre in gold and available in a cream white and matte black.

LV by The Pool by Louis Vuitton Femme

The Maison’s summer women’s collection this year is dedicated to a lifestyle of travel, compiling an extensive wardrobe adapted for both the seaside and city to bring the ease of a summer holiday to wherever you go. The Louis Vuitton monogram print gets a vibrant blue update on each summer staple in the collection, ranging from irresistible pareos to stunning swimwear pieces reminiscent of the azure blue of Portuguese azulejos evoking open skies and endless oceans. 

The LV by The Pool collection introduces a new member to the LV footwear family perfect for a trip to the pool — the Isola mule. This leather piece features an elegantly crafted “LV” logo for a touch of class and is available in a range of colours from a tanned Cognac brown to a shimmering silver for those evening pool-side parties.

La Prairie White Caviar Pearl Infusion

This luxurious brightening serum from La Prairie is infused with Swiss golden caviar and their proprietary brightening molecule, Lumidose. This formulation is designed specifically to target major pigmentation disturbances such as dark spots and redness caused by acne and sun damage as well as sallowness and greyness, making it the perfect companion for your summer travels. The active ingredients increase the density of collagen fibres in the dermis and enhance skin luminosity to achieve that warm sun-kissed glow, giving nourished skin smooth to the touch.

Celine Perfume Soaps by Celine Haute Parfumerie

Celine has unveiled their first Bath & Body line for their fragrance house, Celine Haute Parfumerie. The first offering from the new line comes in a collection of perfumed bar soaps in four of the Maison’s most beloved fragrances: Parade, La Peau Nue, Eau de Californie and Reptile. Harkening back to the first traditions of perfumery long before eaux de parfum and eaux de toilette, the Celine soaps were conceived with the triple intention of perfuming one’s self, clothes and house. Meant for both wet and dry use, the soaps are scented intensely such that they delicately perfume linens when placed together in a drawer or cupboard and small rooms when left in the open, perfect for sprucing up your room when travelling. 

Sweet almond oil makes for a gentle cleanse on the skin, while the subtle natural shades with the engraved Celine Triomphe logo on one side and the name of the fragrance on the other are pleasant to the eye. Each bar of soap is crafted by the Maison’s French soap-maker in Provence, known for their expertise in combining technique with olfactory sensitivity. 

For those who prefer a luxurious scent with a personal touch for their resort bathroom, opt for the refined, floral citrus of La Peau Nue. Hedi Slimane constructed the scent out of nostalgia of his teenage days collecting pictures and film reviews of Parisienne movie stars from secondhand book stores along the quays of Seine, Parisian petrichor in the air. Expect notes of bergamot, rose absolute, white orris butter, rice powder and vetiver. 

If you prefer something earthy, Reptile is the perfect blend of cedarwood and spice. Dedicated to important musicians in his life, Slimane imagined the scent to reflect the magnetism behind the body of the rock star — electric, epicene and sensuous. Expect notes of cedar, pepper, tree moss, leather accord and musk. 

The Bath & Body line also includes elegant travel accessories for the global citizen, including a soap holder, a small dry storage jar and a toothbrush case designed in the style of Art Deco.

Bags Where Form Meets Function

Bottega Veneta Medium Sardine

The Italian Maison presents a larger version of their Futurism-meets-Intrecciato Sardine bag for their 2023 fall collection. The Sardine made waves when it was first seen in Matthieu Blazy’s debut Fall/Winter show in 2022, notable for its compelling sinuous shape, deceptively spacious compartments and the ergonomic brass handle in the shape of the Mediterranean fish it is named for.

The 2023 medium-sized Sardine offering comes with a shoulder strap for more dynamic styling options and ease of carry, making it a versatile yet elegant staple equally fitting for both casual and professional settings. 

The Medium Sardine is available in stores and online. 

Balenciaga Crush Sling Bag

The Balenciaga Crush line was expanded with the unveiling of this larger sling bag version at the House’s 2023 winter show. A softer adjustable leather strap replaces the usual Crush chain handle, a fashionable yet practical option for the urban city dweller. 

The Crush Sling is a soft paper calfskin bag with a hourglass silhouette resembling a “crushed” bag, echoing design principles which are distinctively Balenciaga. The bare matte black colour way is an elegant option for minimalists while its louder floral print counterpart will be perfect for those seeking a more whimsical summer with white and yellow lilies on a pastel pistachio green.

The Balenciaga Crush Sling will be released globally in stores and online this September 2023. 

Moschino Heartbeat Bag

This camp art piece cum handbag from the Moschino of the 90s is set for a revival, joining the House’s offerings for their 2023 pre-fall collection. The name is not just for show — the Heartbeat bag is a structured three-dimensional piece made out of two halves of a heart designed to clasp together like a locket with a fully functioning mini-padlock and key set.

The Heartbeat is dainty as it is quirky, perfect for adding a playfully dynamic touch to your evening outfit. The new iteration comes in a variety of seasonal colours — from versatile black and white to more colourful raspberry and baby pink.
