“Unlikely…but not Impossible”

Giuseppe Colarusso takes everyday objects and makes them useless

Feb 19, 2014 | By Staff Writer

In an interesting twist on the function of design, artist and photographer Giuseppe Colarusso imagines designs that are far from functional or convenient. The ongoing series ‘Unlikely’ explores the improbable and implausible by taking everyday objects and making them unusable. Colarusso shows in this series that a table tennis racket with a hole in the middle, a rectangular rolling pin, one-eyed sunglasses are unlikely, yes, but not impossible to achieve. From the sea of design ideas, some of the objects are fabricated by Colarusso while others are digitally created. What is all for? Colarusso does this all with the aim of making us stop, think and laugh which, he says, is a worthy cause.
