Distiller John Walker & Sons has bottled 60 crystal decanters of Diamond Jubilee Blended Scotch Whisky to mark the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.

The grain and malt whiskies have been maturing in a marrying cask of English oak from the Queen’s Sandringham Estate since 1952.

The amber liquor is presented in lead crystal decanter adorned with a Britannia silver collar, featuring a half-carat diamond set by hand, and a numbered seal.

A campaign, in the London Daily Mail, is afoot to build a new megayacht for the Queen of England and the British Royal Family .

Their previous vessel, the 412 ft. Royal Brittania built in 1953, was retired in 1997.

Codenamed FSP21 (Future Ship Project 21st Century), the 515-ft. vessel would be the third largest in the world, after those of Roman Abramovich and the ruler of Dubai.

Queen Elizabeth II has given her approval to rent out state apartments at St. James’s Palace as party venues during the 2012 London Olympics.

Companies with long-standing ties to the royal family that hold royal warrants can now have a chance to throw a bash in the royal palace.

The palace is in a prime spot for a number of the Olympic events which will take place in London next year, including beach volleyball, which will be held in nearby Horse Guards Parade, and the marathon, which will start and finish in The Mall.

Australia has unveiled the world’s largest gold coin, weighing a massive 1,000 kg, to mark the visit of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Perth Mint produced it in time for the Queen’s visit to Western Australia for the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.

The coin has a kangaroo on one side and the Queen’s profile on the other. It is nearly 80 cm in diameter and 12 cm thick.

Gilded invitations issued in the name of Queen Elizabeth II began dropping onto doormats this week after being sent out on Wednesday and Thursday, with the monarch’s EIIR cypher die-stamped in gold.

While names of the guests were not released, the list of dignitaries due to attend the wedding on April 29 is likely to meet Kate’s expectations that marrying into the royal family would amount to “quite a daunting prospect.”
