
Amazon’s members-only flash-sale site MyHabit is launching its first designer tab, with the likes of Thakoon, Valentino and Balmain going on offer at up to 60 percent.
Adding to its women’s, men’s, children’s and home categories, the site is teaming up with top fashion houses including Bibhu Mohapatra, Costume National and Alejandro Ingelmo for the high-end category.
Discounts will be in keeping with other MyHabit sales, with the sale to commence 12 PM EST Monday, February 6.


Porsche and Ford have become the latest brands to offer customers the chance to pick their dream cars via online configurators.
Brands are increasingly tapping the internet to let customers design their perfect model without even leaving the house.
The trend was originally started by Bentley, which has allowed customers to design their own hand-built luxury models for some time now at bentleyconfigurator.com.

Fashion bloggers will help propel online sales of designer clothes, jewels and luxury cars to more than 11 billion euros ($15 billion) in 2015.
The exclusive fashion world has embraced the Internet later than other industries but is catching up quickly.
Brands such as Burberry, Tiffany and Gucci are increasing exposure to social media to connect with a new generation born when mobiles and Internet were already there.


Chinese online media company Sina, mainly known for its Twitter-like Weibo microblogging service, launched Sina Luxury on Friday.
The new e-store enables designers to sell their collections directly to customers. Those who have already signed up include highest-profile Western brands such as Dior, Burberry, Gucci, and Paul Smith, all “100 percent guaranteed genuine”.
Sina Luxury’s main rivals on the Chinese market are the luxury e-tailing start-up IHaveU.com, which as opposed to Sina also sells menswear, as well as a new fashion store called Netease and e-commerce giant Taobao’s TMalls.


Less than a month after announcing its partnership with Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana, e-tailer Yoox has said it is readying an online destination to shop all of Armani’s ranges under one virtual roof.
The new armani.com Online Store “Powered by YOOX Group” will be launched in the second half of 2011.
Armani.com will be mainly active in Europe, the US, Japan and China, and will feature the Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Armani Junior, EA7, Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans brands.


Following Balenciaga and Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier is the third major fashion brand to present a new website this week.
JeanPaulGaultier.com unites all of the French designer’s creative actvities under one global roof, including ready-to-wear, haute couture, and perfumes.
The new online destination is divided into three sectors: LIVE! integrates social media sites Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, updates from bloggers, videos and photos from fashion shows as well as news surrounding the brand, while a digital showroom and an e-shop let you browse and buy all collections.
