Harrods is set to launch a range of £5000 ($10,000) Swarovski-studded chocolates, with exclusively designed packaging by Lebanese chocolatier, Patchi.
The super-premium packaging, in which the 49 chocolates are hand-wrapped in Indian silk and placed on suede leather partitioned with gold and platinum, was created by Patchi’s in-house design team.
Each and every chocolate is adorned with gold and Swarovski crystal and silk rose. These are then placed in a stunning box made of genuine leather and magnificent hand woven silk from India and China.
A Harrods spokesperson says, ‘A number of our customers have actually asked for a product such as this which has the “wow” factor.’
The chocolates are part of Harrods’ exclusive new range of ‘High Life’ products, which will launch next month. Unlike the Royal Collection from Cocoa Gourmet that sported edible gold and diamonds, Im not sure you can actually swallow the crystals...

Most Expensive Bottled Water
Those who once scoffed at the possibilities of water bars and water tastings are starting to change their tune as a new luxury-class of bottled water has emerged and these products are quickly claiming new fans. Parallels with the wine industry are unavoidable, and similar to the spirit as water is categorized primarily by source. For example, Berg is a brand of water that, as the name suggests, is collected from icebergs off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The claim is that this 15,000-year-old water comes from a time when there were less atmospheric pollutants.
Similarly, Tasmanian Rain is bottled close to the World Meteorological Organization, which consistently holds the record of the world’s purest air. However rather than using springs or icebergs, Tasmanian Rain is collected from raindrops before they hit the ground. Additionally, the company responsible for Tasmanian Rain has partnered with Elementree, an organization that plants trees based on water shipments and carbon emissions.
Evidently, the source is not the only aspect that differentiates the varietals. Company politics and policy, bottle design, and fashion are heavily utilized within the industry. Take Veen and Aquadeco. Both of these brands received accolades for their striking bottle designs. Although in terms of unabashed luxury, Bling H2O is the clear winner. Their bottles are decorated with Swarovski crystals and retail for nearly $40 per bottle.
Swarovski Crystal Sinks
Linkasink, the makers of an array of artisan sinks, is now producing unique porcelain sinks encrusted with Swarovski crystals. The demand for crystal-encrusted products has lead Linkasink to create beautiful sink designs that feature hand-placed Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls as key design elements on the exterior of a porcelain sink bowl.
The idea for the sinks came to Kirk Guthrie, founder of Linkasink, after he saw the level of attention his wife, Toby, received for a number of crystal-covered apparel items she created. Because of her experience and expertise with crystals, Toby oversees the hand application of the crystals on all of the sinks produced by Linkasink. These luxury designs are available on 3 styles of porcelain bowls with two finish options (white and bronze).
The crystals come in a number of colors including pink, black, blue, turquoise, and a prism of colors called aurora borealis. Customers can select any color of crystal or pearls that Swarovski produces. The sink measures 17 inches in diameter and 6 inches in depth. The suggested retail price ranges from $1,900 to $12,200.

New Swarovski Flagship Store in Tokyo
Highly visible, more than a thousand Swarovski boutiques and concessions are located in all major fashion capitals around the world. Now, Swarovski opened a new flagship store in Tokyo’s renowned Ginza district on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
It will showcase the entire Daniel Swarovski Couture Line and the jewellery and accessories from the Swarovski fashion collection.
Three exclusive Ginza limited edition pieces will be available at this particular flagship store: the Black Elvis Pendant, the Signature Necklace and the Signature Power Evening Bag.
Modelled on the flagship store, all of the other Swarovski boutiques will be refurbished from 2008 according to the new architectural concept. These new design concepts have resulted from the collaboration between Swarovski and the famous Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka.
Inside the Ginza boutique the “Crystal Forest” comes to life. All of the walls are textured with reflective white relief prisms of various lengths. These faceted, multi-layered elements create visual depth and exude an internal rhythm. For this one-of-a-kind boutique, named Swarovski Ginza, the conventions of design are challenged by bringing the “inside to the outside”. An experience to embrace when in Tokyo!

Swarovski crystal fireplace by Justen Ladda
So, how would you like your fireplace to be – retro styled, contemporary or Swarovski studded? Yes, you read it right. I am talking about the Swarovski crystal studded fireplace designed by Justen Ladda. The one pictured above was custom designed for a fireplace in a late 19th century building. Since fireplaces vary greatly in size and configuration, the firm custom designs them to suit the needs of uber-rich. In the case of this model, the two bay windows form a door that allows easy loading and cleaning of the fire pit. The metal is stainless steel and the curtains are Swarovski crystal. Depending on the complexity of the design, labor and material, pricing for these fireplaces starts at around $20 000. Pictured above cost $24 000.
