Sunglasses with illusion Louis Vuitton logo

Those sunglasses with illusion Louis Vuitton logo all over the lenses can now be had by Filipino fans of the brand as Louis Vuitton makes its eyewear collection available in the Philippines for the first time.

The Marc Jacobs-designed handcrafted eyewear has LV-philes drooling as it employs distinct design elements used in its iconic trunks and leathergoods—the S-lock, Monogram Flower and Coin de Malle hinges, for instance. The popular Monogram and Damier patterns are also used in its acetate frames.

LV’s patented Landscape Vision guarantees 100-percent protection from UV rays. All lenses go through the so-called polarization treatment that improves visual comfort: the sun glare from wet and flat surfaces is reduced and color contrast is increased.
The Spring-Summer 2008 collection has 39 styles for men and women, including the Illusion and Conspiration Pilote range that employ the Monogram logos on the lenses, retailing from $560 to $750. No worries, the logos don’t block your vision when you wear the eyeglasses.

This new addition to the LV merchandise for the local market is testament to the French luxury malletier’s confidence in the Philippines that, according to brand director Rhea de Vera-Aguirre, they’re in a constant search for a new store location in the northern part of the metropolis.

Louis Vuitton : The Blason jewellery collection

Designed by Pharrell Williams in collaboration with Camille Miceli (the Vuitton creative consultant who now designs jewelry for the brand and handles Marc Jacobs's personal public relations), this new Louis Vuitton collection is a variation on four themes, in which the rhythm and energy of the new continent harmonize with the spirit of historic Europe.
Blason originates from French Heraldry and is the symbol of a dynasty, synonymous with a coat of arms, and for centuries has conveyed aristocratic heritage from one generation to another. Williams, a longtime collector of Louis Vuitton luggage who, along with friend and A Bathing Ape founder Nigo designed and launched the house's first sunglass collection in April 2005, has emblazoned the history of Louis Vuitton with this special collection of edgy, avant-garde pieces inspired by the music universe and featuring combinations that include, but are not limited to, white gold with diamonds and yellow gold with diamonds.

The collection will be available in Louis Vuitton Shops this spring. The pieces range in price from 1,400 to 420,000 Euros, or approximately $2,070 to $621,000.

Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy

Richard Prince collaborated with Marc Jacobs to design artistic bags for the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2008 line. The hottest item right now is the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy which is said to be released in the US in May.
The monogram pattern is designed in a manner that has the orange, red, and yellow paints looking like they were painted on with watercolor paint. This bag has an incredibly long wait list at many stores and the masses are clamoring to get the next ‘big’ Speedy. The price is said to be around $1,300 via your local LV boutique.

The Louis Vuitton Aquarelle Bag is a modified Speedy, a more refined and chic style. The frame is also made of wood and the handles are made of lizard. This is a stunning bag in the Richard Prince collaboration with Louis Vuitton. The price on this bag is said to be around $3,600, but it will most likely end up costing over this amount. Release date should also be around May 1st.

Most Expensive Louis Vuitton Handbag

In early 2007, Louis Vuitton released their most expensive handbag, the Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork Bag. The bags, as the title suggests, were made of samples of different Louis Vuitton bags. The fifteen bags used come from the LV spring/summer and cruise lines.

The gold chain shoulder strap makes this the perfect handbag for the discerning 90s rapper while the patchwork nature of the purse itself suggests that the person owning it may have a rusted truck propped up on cinder blocks in their front yard.
Louis Vuitton made twenty-four numbered copies of their most expensive handbags, priced at $45,000 and thhis limited edition purse sold out almost immediately.

A Louis Vuitton Store Inside a Marriott

Hotels are slowly moving beyond the bar, nightclub and restaurant trend to add some hip retail spaces in their properties. Of course, this is nothing new as some hotels have been doing this already for a long time. But what is news is the report of a Louis Vuitton store opening inside the JW Marriott Bucharest Hotel.

The store will open in June and offer customers the standard LV leather goods as well as the opportunity to design their own travel trunk based on their "requirements and taste."

As for why LV would open in a Marriott, international senior VP for LV said :
"We looked on Calea Victoriei and on other boulevards in Bucharest but chose the Marriott because it is a visually safe and controlled environment, where you know who your neighbours are and do not risk having a sex shop open next door."

Gucci & LV’s Designer Gas Masks

Bring on the pollutants and harmful toxins—these Diddo Velema, Gucci and Louis Vuitton collaborative gas-masks are going to make fashionistas want to inhale stuff that’ll kill them.

The high-fashioned monogrammed, and diamond encrusted headwear was debuted by Velema at the 2008 Luxury Show in Bucharest, Romania and seem to be reserved for the filthy-rich hypochondriacs.

GUCCI reigns as the Most Coveted luxury brand in the world

Gucci, the flagship brand of French luxury group PPR, is the world’s most coveted luxury brand according to a global luxury brands survey by The Nielsen Company.

In the latest survey, one in five global consumers said they would choose to buy Gucci (over any other luxury brand) if money was no option, making the Italian fashion brand that was revived by Tom Ford in the 1990’s the most coveted and aspirational luxury brand in the world today.

Chanel and Calvin Klein tied for second place in Nielsen’s 48-country global online survey that was conducted in November 2007. In fourth place came Louis Vuitton, followed by Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior and Versace.

Two years ago in the same survey, Gucci shared top honours in the survey with Giorgio Armani – which has since slipped to fourth place in current global rankings. “It’s an incredible achievement for Gucci to remain at the top of the most coveted league table for luxury brands,” said Patrick Dodd, President Europe, The Nielsen Company. “In the past two years, Gucci has managed to maintain and even increase its brand equity in a very competitive and fickle industry. They have achieved this by consistently embedding their core brand values in all their branded products, which range from perfume and sunglasses to accessories, jewellery handbags and ready-to-wear fashion,” noted Dodd.

According to the survey, if money was no object, 41% of Indians and 37% of UAE consumers said they would choose Gucci.
