Upset that the Apple iPhone is no longer exclusive enough? Then, App Store has the perfect downloadable application for you, called I Am Rich.
The program displays a red gem, has no function but to display your wealth to others through ownership, and costs $1000.
The description in iTunes reads “The red icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch always reminds you (and others when you show it to them) that you were able to afford this. It’s a work of art with no hidden function at all…”
As kottke said, “For some, the iPhone is already an obvious display of wealth and I Am Rich is commenting on that. Plus, buying more than you need as an indication of wealth is practically an American core value for a growing segment of the population.”
Unfortunately you wont be able to download it anymore. It has since been removed from the Apple Store for no reason... Though, the “I am Rich” application is one of those reasons why you have to make sure your iTunes asks for you permission to buy apps before purchasing !

Diamond Encrusted Olympic iPhone
To celebrate the 2008 Summer Olympics being held in Beijing, China. De Vere’s of London have created the Olympic Diamond iPhone 3G.The front steel bezel of these Apple iPhones 3G are inset with 88 diamonds.
This number marks the date of the opening ceremony on 8/8 (8th of August) 2008.
The number 8 is very important in Chinese superstition as the pronunciation of it is the same as “accumulate wealth” and also double 8 stands for double wealth.
The Olympic Diamond iPhone is £4148 (USD$8219). This is the price for setting the 88 diamonds into an iPhone supplied by the customer.
The 88 diamonds can be set in a variety of patterns : Below are a couple of ideas.
On the left, the 88 diamonds are set into the top right hand corner. On the right, the same design is expanded so that the diamonds are spread along the top and side.
There are other iPhone designs and many ways to show off the diamonds on your iPhone !
Other designs include 28 diamonds valued at £1700 ($3376). Those seeking a bit more luxury can get a version that is festooned with168 diamonds that costs £7800 ($15493). It takes between 7-10 days to set the diamonds into the iPhone.

Dior Homme iPhone Holder
There are lots of cases made for new iPhone 3G and one of the latest one comes from Christian Dior.
Named "Dior Homme iPhone Holder", from Dior Homme’s exclusive Black Tie collection, the case is made from calf leather and it's all painted in black, featuring a discreet Dior logo on the inside . Unlike other cases, this one is actually more like a pouch and it allows you to completely hide your iPhone inside it.
This new iPhone case is obviously expensive, retailing at about 290 Euros ($450), twice as expensive as new iPhone 3G itself.
Christian Dior is not at the first collaboration with the mobile world, as the company actually came up with its own mobile phone, My Dior, with a retail price starting at about $5000.

Swarovski Encrusted iPhone Pouch by Mercedes
Part of the GLK collection, the new iPhone pouch is crafted from the finest quality white nappa leather with crisp cut-out transparent GLK lettering– a characteristic feature of the entire GLK Collection – that has been lavishly trimmed with CRYSTALLIZED™ Swarovski Elements.
The effect is eye-catching: when the iPhone is actually inserted and the display is activated, the refraction of light through the fine-cut crystals ensures that the GLK lettering shimmers in an attractive play of colours. Inside the GLK iPhone® pouch is lined with a special magenta-coloured fabric.
Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH has been working closely with the Austrian crystal specialist Swarovski for some time now. The strictly limited edition of 40 exclusive, glittering iPhone® pouches will be exclusively raffled for invited guests of Mercedes-Benz in the Lounge.
Only 40 are set for immediate production, with each set to be raffled for invited guests of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in the Lounge. But not to worry, the iPhone pouch will certainly make its official debut as part of the Mercedes GLK Collection come October. Though, for drivers of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, the GLK-Class offers a convenient and secure connection for the iPhone on board with the usual multifunction steering wheel control.

New Apple iPhone 3G
Almost one year after the original Apple iPhone went on sale, Apple has unveiled a new 3G version of its popular iPhone that will go on sale on 11 July (tomorrow!)
The addition of 3G support is a big win : This will allow users to surf the internet at faster speeds than is currently possible on the original iPhone. If data speeds hold up as Jobs demonstrated, the new iPhone really will put the internet in your pocket.
It will also feature built-in GPS technology, which will enable users to use their iPhone as a satellite-navigation device both in-car and on-foot using Google Maps.
iPhone 3G isn't perfect, but there's a lot to like here : Though the iPhone 3G is thinner at the edges than its predecessor. The 8GB model will come in black only, while Apple promises the 16GB version in back and white.
In the US the phone retails for US$199 for the 8GB model (down from $399) and US$299 for the 16GB version (down from $599). Indeed, Steve Jobs said that one of the main reasons people had given for not buying the handset was that it was too expensive.
It will be rolled out to 70 countries worldwide over the next few months. More than six million iPhones had been sold globally since the device first went on sale in the US in July 2007.
