The Swings

An Interactive Music and Lights Swing Set

Aug 07, 2014 | By Staff Writer

As part of the Green Box Arts Festival in Colorado, an art interaction design studio, Daily Tous Les Jours was invited to exhibit their work ‘The Swings’. This interactive work comprises of a series of swings that has light panels attached to the bottom of the seat and musical notes that sound with each swing. When all the swings are in use, they play a musical piece and light up the space around. Taken from Daily Tous Les Jours’ website:

“The Swings allow participants to make music with their entire bodies, to connect to one another and to have a sense of ownership of public space due to the music they create. The result is a giant collective instrument that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds. The project offers a new experience in collective music making, available to enliven urban spaces, festivals, special events, and more.”

A feast for the eyes and ears, interactive art is always a delight to all. Creative and accessible, it brings fun to anyone using or viewing it.
