Tsumori Chisato has teamed up with French macaron boutique Ladurée, art-directing a special cherry-blossom-themed set for the brand’s 150th anniversary.
The Paris-based tea salon, which has outlets across Europe, Asia and the US selling its coveted pastel-colored macarons, decided to honor its landmark birthday by partnering with Japanese creator Chisato.
The designer’s trademark colorful style is seen in the packaging she designed for the cherry-blossom-themed set, scheduled to go on sale March 1.

French luxury macaron brand Ladurée has announced the launch of a color cosmetics range called Les Merveilleuses de Laduree.
Created by Albion Cosmetics, the collection will include 20 different blush colors in the form of cameos as well as liquid foundation and lip color.
The range will launch in Japan this February before reaching Europe in fall 2012, followed by the US and elsewhere in Asia.

Gift boxes at luxury macaron boutique Laduree have undergone a makeover with the help of British fashion designer Matthew Williamson.
The macarons boxes – designed in his signature kaleidoscopic, graphic style — will be available during London Fashion Week starting Sept, 16 before moving across the channel to the pastry shop’s home to coincide with Paris Fashion Week Sept, 27.
A box of eight macarons — light airy cookies made with egg whites, sugar, ground almond powder and ganache filling — costs €15. 60.

In honor of the upcoming nuptials of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock, two iconic French pastry houses have created special, limited-edition desserts.
Ladurée launched a special box-set of eight macarons, light, airy almond meringue cookies that come in guava and raspberry-aniseed flavors.
The guava macaron is perfumed with pink guava from South Africa, while the raspberry cookie has a hint of aniseed.

Famous, luxury Parisian patisserie Maison Ladurée has announced plans to set up its first US outpost in New York this summer.
The opulent boutique — known for its pastel-colored, feather-light macarons and elegant tea houses across Paris — will open a boutique on Madison Avenue in July.
In a city where the cupcake continues to reign as the frosted, portable dessert snack of choice for New Yorkers and tourists alike, the French house is hoping to take a bite out of the market and start a new trend.
Oone that appeals to the well-heeled Manhattanite who dines on fine china, drinks tea with her pinky held aloft and swoons at dainty, fairytale pastries.
