Christian Dior wins bid for one of the most famous fashion images of all time: Richard Avedon’s 1955 photo “Dovima With Elephants”.

According to WWD, the image of Dovima, dressed in a Dior evening gown at the Cirque d’Hiver, went for 841,000 euros, ($1,148,910).

This sale more than doubles Avedon’s previous auction record of $457,000 for “Marilyn Monroe, May 6, 1957, New York City,” set in 2008.

This year, to celebrate the release of the Cuvée Belle Epoque 2002, Perrier-Jouët embarked on a creative collaboration with Japanese art photographer Makiko Takehara.

She has interpreted 20 legendary Perrier-Jouët vintages, from the oldest in Champagne, the PJ 1825, to the first of the new millennium.

Makiko Takehara’s compositions provide a singularly artistic perspective of each vintage, turning champagne into a work of art.

World-famous fashion photographer David LaChapelle has shot the new campaign for French designer Christian Audigier’s lifestyle label, Ed Hardy.

The shot will promote his new collection of apparel and accessories that carry prints of American tattooer Don Ed Hardy.

It shows real versions of the figures Hardy uses in his works such as sirens, devils and geishas. The tiger in the background is the signature symbol of the brand.

Artnet, online auctions, launches sale of legendary Marilyn Monroe photographs featuring 60 works by 15 famous photographers.

The auction will be on-line between February 10 and February 24 and photographs’ price estimates range between $500 and $30,000.

There will be also 9 limited edition Bert Stern prints from “The Lost Sitting”, a collection that have been missing since 1962 and have recently been discovered, recovered and restored.
