Gucci Sponsors Chatsworth House Fashion Exhibition

Britain’s Chatsworth House has been revealed as the setting for what is widely expected to be one of 2017’s major fashion exhibitions, sponsored by Gucci.

“House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth” is set to explore the life of the historical Cavendish family and additional famous figures, including Bess of Hardwick, the 18th century “Empress of Fashion” Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire; Fred Astaire’s sister and dance partner Adele Astaire and Nancy Mitford. Supermodel Stella Tennant will also have a starring role in the show.

Covering art history, fashion, jewelry, design and textiles, the exhibition will tell the story of the Devonshire Collection and the role fashion played in the protagonists’ lives. Curated by International Editor-at-Large at American Vogue Hamish Bowles, it will be set into various rooms of the house and organized by theme, including ‘Coronation Dress’, ‘The Devonshire House Ball’, ‘Bess of Hardwick and the Tudor influence’, ‘The Georgiana Effect’ and ‘Entertaining at Chatsworth’, among others. Highlights include a Givenchy bolero worn on the Duchess of Devonshire’s wedding day, uniforms, coronation robes and fancy-dress costumes, and historic and contemporary couture from Christian Dior, Gucci, Helmut Lang, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Vetements.

“This exhibition proves how much historical objects are an incredible source of inspiration for creating the present,” says Alessandro Michele, Creative Director at Gucci. “Thus far the house has been speaking, now House Style gives a voice to the wardrobes of its inhabitants and guests.

“House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth”, a 200-page survey of fashion at Chatsworth featuring photographs by Mario Testino, Cecil Beaton and Bruce Weber, will also be published to mark the exhibition.

Chanel Coco Crush New Face Keira Knightley

Longtime friend and face of Chanel, Keira Knightley can now add Coco Crush ad campaign star to her already impressive list of accolades. The 31-year-old actress, in her signature smoky-eyed look and pulled-back hair, looked a vision as she posed with the collection of quilted jewelry.

The campaign for Fall 2016 – shot by the great Mario Testino – comes after a Broadway stint playing Thérèse Raquin. She is slated to star in American drama film Collateral Beauty, alongside other Hollywood superstars such as Will Smith and Kate Winslet.

Naomi Campbell Launches New Book

We last saw her in the hit TV series Empire, learning the hard way that power never comes with happiness. She is stepping back into the spotlight to promote her new coffee table book Naomi that acts as a catalogue of her meteoric success and will be released on May 1.

Her career that spans more than 30 years (has it really been that long?!) takes up two volumes and rightfully so. Volume One, will be a pictorial portfolio while Volume Two will feature autobiographical text. While the latter will be more personal, with Campbell’s own anecdotes, personal notes, photographs of friends and collaborators that have been taken from her own archive, the former will be slightly more fashion centric.

Volume One will showcase the work of famous photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Jean-Paul Goude, Peter Lindbergh and Mario Testino amongst others. The casing of the book, published by Taschen, even features the contoured artwork of Allen Jones, as if the list isn’t impressive enough as is.

Attending a launch for the book at Burberry’s London cafe Thomas’s this week, Campbell, who has a long history of working with the British heritage brand, said: “To be able to celebrate with my family and friends like Christopher Bailey and Benedikt Taschen, and so many people from my industry that have surrounded me for over 30 years was a great honor.”

Only 1,000 copies of the book, which can be pre-ordered from taschen.com for $1,750 until May 1, when it will retail for $2,500, have been printed, and according to the publisher they are selling fast. Taschen is also releasing 200 art edition copies, currently available for pre-order for $3,500 until May 1, when the price will rise to $5,000.

Campbell isn’t the first fashion icon to mark her impressive career with a coffee table book — Gisele Bundchen also teamed up with Taschen at the end of last year to honor her 20 years in the industry with a similar photo book venture. The 1,000 copy run of the $700 publication sold out before hitting the shelves, thanks to the pre-order system. Fellow supermodel Kate Moss arguably started the trend back in 2012 when she released “Kate: The Kate Moss Book”, a retrospective of her 25-year career.

Our friends at L’Officiel Singapore have a fine feature out on the Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 advertising campaign, featuring the hottest up-and-coming talents in the fashion world. We picked up this story from the AFP service but should you want more details, check out the story here. There is a video and lots of other fun stuff there.

This is one campaign that features none of our models-of-the-moment, especially our recent favorites Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Instead, we have British models Bella Yentob, Hayett Belarbi McCarthy, Eliza Fairbanks, Misha Hart, Liam Gardner, Sol Goss, Ben Gregory and Louie Johnson in the campaign, joined by Pierce Brosnan’s son Dylan and twins Ruth and May Bell (whom the AFP identify as Dylan’s sisters, which is quite amusing). Other news sources are playing up Dylan’s shirtless shot, which you can also see over at L’Officiel Singapore.

The campaign showcases the brand’s newest ready-to-wear and accessories collections, including its made-in-England Heritage Trench Coats, Scottish-woven scarves, ponchos and latest bag styles. Captured by the renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, it was shot in London under the creative direction of Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey.

On Thursday, Snapchat users will be able to tune in to watch a Burberry photo shoot take place in real time.

Photographer Mario Testino will be in London capturing the Spring/Summer 2016 campaign, and fashion lovers will be able to watch the shoot in action by following Burberry on Snapchat beginning Thursday at 5pm London time. The content will be available to view for 24 hours.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have released four official photographs from Princess Charlotte Diana’s christening.

In a significant link with William’s mother, the pictures were taken by her favorite photographer, Mario Testino.

The shots were taken in the gardens and drawing room at Sandringham House, the Queen’s private rural residence, following Princess Charlotte’s baptism at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, on Sunday 5th July.

Mario Testino has been invited by the British royal family to be the official photographer for the christening of Princess Charlotte.

This is not the first time Testino has photographed the British monarchy: he was close friends with the late Princess Diana and has previously taken official photographs of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the engagement photos for Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Princess will be baptized on Sunday, July 5 at the St. Mary Magdalene church on the Sandringham estate, England. Testino will take photographs afterwards at the christening party.

Macallan teams up with Testino

Macallan creates Mario Testino Edition scotch whisky

Whisky maker  has tapped fashion photographer Mario Testino to collaborate on a limited edition single malt whisky collector’s set.

Testino is the fifth photographer in Macallan’s ‘Master of Photography’ series, which has tapped some of the biggest names in photography, this time to help interpret the concept of ‘Six Pillars,’ a set of characteristics that define the brand.

Testino chose to personify concepts like ‘spiritual home’ and ‘exceptional oak casks’ through a cast of six distinct and stylized characters (i.e., models) captured amid a group of revelers at a former Chinese palace.

The photo shoot took place near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

Macallan teams up with Testino

The limited edition set — only 1,000 have been created — comes with a 750ml bottle of single malt scotch whisky, a Testino print and a book of 20 photos from Beijing, reports Forbes.

Inside the glossy black case also sits a collection of six mini bottles hidden in a secret compartment and released by the press of a button.

The individual whiskies make up the limited edition whisky, all a combination of Spanish and American 100 percent sherry-seasoned oak butts and puncheon casks.

Testino follows on the heels of Elliott Erwitt, Annie Leibovitz, Albert Watson and Rankin in lending his artistic eye to the Macallan brand.

The Mario Testino Edition retails for $3,500.

Mario Testino has shot the two British models for the London-based brand’s latest campaign for Spring/Summer 2015.

Christopher Bailey,  joint CEO and creative director described the two models as “two great British icons”. Twenty-four-year-old Dunn is one of the biggest new names in the modeling industry, having walked in the recent Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and is also a regular star for Burberry with three previous campaigns for the brand under her belt.

Meanwhile fashion icon , who at 44 has spent almost three decades at the top of the industry, returns to work with Burberry for the first time since her campaign shot alongside Kate Moss in 2001.

“It is always a pleasure to work with Mario Testino; we came up in the business together twenty-eight years ago, so have an understanding and ease in working together,” explained Campbell.

Alongside the colorful new versions of the classic trenchcoat shown off by Campbell and Dunn, the Spring/Summer 2015 menswear pieces were modeled by musicians George Barnett (drummer in These New Puritans) who is also the current face of the Burberry Brit Rhythm fragrance campaign, and George Le Page (drummer in Of Empires) who also opened and closed the brand’s show in the summer.

Vogue Eyewear has revealed its new spring/summer 2013 campaign featuring Eva Mendes. The American actress is following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, who was previously a brand ambassador.

The campaign was shot in a house up above West Hollywood last October by famous fashion photographer Mario Testino, who has been collaborating with Vogue Eyewear for several years.

The photographs emphasize the glamour and femininity of the Spring/Summer 2013 designs.

Vogue Eyewear’s new designs are inspired by catwalk trends: cat’s eye and aviator styles, retro squared shapes and oversized square frames.

Past brand ambassadors for Vogue Eyewear include Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Gisele Bundchen.

Famous Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen has unveiled, via social networks, a teaser for her ad for Chanel’s new makeup range.

Even though rumors were rife on the web about Rihanna being the new face of Chanel, it came to light that the luxury brand has chosen Gisele Bündchen as its new brand ambassador.

The face of Chanel’s new Les Beiges makeup range — which includes a luminous powder — revealed a teaser for the ad campaign directed by Mario Testino. The model’s always flawless complexion looks extra radiant in the 20-second video.

While Gisele Bündchen is used to posing for the world’s leading designers and brands (Versace, Givenchy, Isabel Marant and H&M), she has not been involved in many beauty campaigns.

The beautiful campaign is shot against the backdrop of Greenwich’s Royal Naval College in stylish black and white, with smoke, rain and fog.

It is the company’s first ‘click to buy’ advertisement. That means fans will be able to get their hands on the items featured in the digital adverts straight away.

Fabergé has unveiled its first advertising campaign shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino and creative-directed by Fabergé’s Katharina Flohr.

Rising Russian-Lithuanian model Bee Gee appears in the ads, wearing resplendent pieces from the Les Fabuleuses de Fabergé and Les Saisons Russes collections.

“The campaign captures the intense and emotive glamour and story-telling that characterizes all contemporary Fabergé creations,” says the company in a release.

Her gig as a Victoria’s Secret Angel bagged her a role in the new Transformers movie, several Vogue covers, and lucrative campaigns for British brand Burberry, which now has also made her the face of its upcoming Body fragrance.

Photographed by Mario Testino, Huntington-Whiteley can be seen wearing an open Burberry trench and nothing else in the just-released visuals.

Testino will shoot different models and personalities for Body, Burberry’s “most exciting launch that we have ever created,” according to creative director Christopher Bailey, over the course of the campaign.
