Speaking to AutoExpress at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman said that he wants to set a new standard for personalization of Aston vehicles.
The aim is to form a team of engineers that would be able to make any of your dreams come true.
Reichman said that this could be accomplished using Aston’s historic Works Service department and the engineering and production staff who currently help produce the One-77 supercar. “There is much more choice in the world,†Reichman said, “so our cars need to be much more personal.” Continue reading →
Having already launched a bespoke audio system for the DBS in 2008, Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen went ahead and introduced the BeoSound DB9 which has been designed to complement the luxurious, handcrafted interiors of the DB9.
It was developed exclusively for the car, meaning it is perfectly matched both physically and acoustically, the company said.
Among the highlights of the new audio system are the thirteen speakers positioned in ten locations around the car including two ’submergible’ twin acoustic lens speakers on both sides of the dashboard. Continue reading →
The Geneva Motor Show is one of the 5 major auto shows in the world, the only one in Europe that takes place every year, always in early springtime.
Rolf Studer, General Manager of the Show, said: “We know it is of key importance to offer automobile manufacturers an attractive platform which guarantees them an opportunity to efficiently present and communicate to the rest of the world.
Every year we welcome some 10,000 media representatives and more than 700,000 visitors, of which 37% come from more than 110 countries.“
This year, the 79th edition will open to public from March 5 to March 15, but there are already shows and exhibition for press.
At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show Aston Martin has unveiled the new 12-cylinder version of the V8 Vantage: V12 Vantage, Aston Martin’s most exhilarating sports car.
Powered by a 6.0 liter engine that produces 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb ft), V12 is the fastest Vantage ever, with a top speed of 190 mph mph (305 km/h) and 0-62 mph (0-100 kp/h) time of 4.2 seconds.
Aston Martin has lately unveiled the One-77, a codename for the as-yet-unnamed V12 coupe, the first new Aston Martin since the company was sold to Ford.
Aston will make only 77 models (seven is the Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Benz lucky number!) and each customer will be able to customize the supercar to their personal tastes.
Each Aston Martin One-77 will be built around a carbon fiber chassis which will be ultra light and strong, supporting a handmade aluminum body.
Aston Martin One-77 will be the fastest car the British marque has ever built. Fitted with a hand finished 7-litre V12 engine, the Aston Martin One-77 will produce more than 650 horsepower. Top speed is estimated at 220 mph and 60 mph arrives in 3.5 seconds.
Aston discloses his plans to hit the market by offering One-77’s for sale by late 2009. Though, Aston Martin is going to unseat the Veyron as the World’s Most Expensive Car knowing that the coupe model is anticipated to bear a retail price of $2.3 million.
Aston chairman David Richards says the company has already identified the “500 or so†potential customers and will take demonstration cars to them, rather than requiring them to visit a showroom.
The Portuguese midfielder bought the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe from Doncaster-based luxury car dealer Liquid 45. He gave instructions for it to be “fully loaded,†a trade term for all the added extras.
