Aston Martin and Mobiado team up for luxury phone

The British luxury car brand Aston Martin and the luxury mobile phone manufacturer Mobiado are collaborating to produce a collection of luxury mobile handsets.

Synergy between the two brands provides an ideal opportunity for Aston Martin to enter into the electronics sector, with an exclusive range planned to launch in May 2011 through a range of premium outlets.

Aston Martin unveils new Virage

Aston Martin took the wraps off its latest model, the new Virage, February 23, promising that it “does everything with the perfection that you would expect today.”

The Virage, which sits somewhere between the brand’s luxury DB9 and sporting DBS, is designed to complete the British brand’s sporting Gran Turismo lineup and will be displayed for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show.

Like its siblings, the new Virage offers a V12, a 6.0L engine which delivers 365 kW of power and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Ultra-luxury automakers still hesitant over EVs

Rolls-Royce 102EX

Rolls-Royce will join the electric car club at the Geneva Motor Show, but like many of its luxury counterparts, it seems uncertain that electrified vehicles are the future.

It will show a one-off electric version of its $300,000 Phantom sedan at the show before sending the vehicle on a global test tour.

Rolls-Royce, one of the world’s most iconic — and expensive — automakers, described the model, known as the 102EX, as a “test bed” to gather research for future decisions about alternative drive trains.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S

Aston Martin has trotted out another special edition, the V8 Vantage S, to be formally unveiled in early March at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.

The S features a unique appearance with a carbon fiber front splitter, a larger air intake, a new rear bumper, and a carbon fiber diffuser.

Other changes include modified side sills, a bigger rear spoiler and 19-inch alloy wheels with bespoke Bridgestone tires.

Aston Martin’s final release of 2010 includes three new special edition DB9s available right now at your local Aston Martin dealership.

The three editions are called Morning Frost, Carbon Black and Quantum Silver, and are available as either coupé or Volante convertible.

The first one is the Morning Frost, which aims to offer a luxury premium, coming dressed in Pearlescent White and using a Metallic Bronze leather interior finish.

Aston Martin has released a new and exclusive derivative of the Rapide, the new Rapide Luxe model.

The new trim essentially adds more functional features, a greater choice of paint and leather finishes as standard, and special bespoke accessories.

The automotive producer offers top standard colors for the vehicle, with the list including Concours Blue and the Bond-inspired Quantum Silver.

The list of goodies offered for the vehicle includes a special key that combines glass with stainless polished steel, as well as a bespoke six-piece Luggage Set.
