World Spa Awards 2016: Top Wellness Destinations
The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles pushes through to the top of the list with its decadent $300 white caviar facial treatment.
If like us, you are in dire need of a little TLC, let this list of winners from the 2016 World Spa Awards tempt you with their ultra-decadent offerings of treatments and facials. The overall results of the awards hint that the best spa experiences are generally found in the Middle East (nine out of 24 category wins), where modern spas continue using centuries-old techniques in their treatments.

Held in conjunction with the World Travel Awards last weekend, the World Spa Awards had a panel of industry leaders and travel experts converge to recognise the best spa destinations around the world. At the top of the list for world’s best signature spa treatment sits The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles for its $300 La Prairie facial. Using the Swiss line’s White Caviar Collection, the rare golden caviar extracts and liquid crystals promise even skin tone, firm and hydrated skin and glowing skin.
Maldives
Maldives unsurprisingly bagged world’s best spa destination of the year for its extensive range of luxurious spa services and restorative wellness programs (though we’re certain the unparalleled views of clear turquoise waters and pristine beaches would be restorative in itself). Like the Middle East, traditional healing techniques remain at the core of Maldivian spa treatments. Massages that use locally-extracted coconut palm tree oil and white sand have been known to reduce stress and stimulate blood circulation effectively.
