At $600,000 per week the 60 metre Lürssen superyacht Solemates designed by the great Espen Oeino is one of the world’s most exclusive charter craft.
It’s also one of the most cutting edge thanks to a new system that lets guests control various functions via an iPad.
Don’t happen to own one? Not a problem – the captain hands each guest their own iPad when they step aboard.

When it comes to the world’s most expensive yacht charters, it’s hard to top Camper & Nicholsons‘ superyacht Moonlight II (ex Alysia).
At $900,000 per week she costs more for seven days at sea than most yachts pull down for a whole month.
At 85.3 metres she also ranks as one of the world’s largest charter yachts, with a steel hull and superstructure with aluminum deckhouses.

The London International Boat Show is set to feature a used boat marina for the first time when it opens its doors to the public again on January 7.
The show, which prides itself on being a family friendly affair as much as a place for the super-rich to splash their cash, says that it is responding to visitor demand in introducing the used boat marina at the annual event.
“This new feature has been introduced to the 2011 Show following overwhelming visitor feedback for used boats,” said the show’s boss Andrew Williams.

Yacht owners can now buy a penthouse condo, complete with a private indoor boat garage, that allows them to step straight from yacht to luxury playpad.
The penthouse condo is part of Royal Phuket Marina’s 15-unit Aquaminium waterfront complex overlooking Phang Nga Bay in southern Thailand.
The private yacht berth, which is big enough to house a 12-meter boat, is only available in the two penthouses — one of which is currently for sale ($3.1 million).

The superyacht that once belonged to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein is on the market again following a failed attempt to sell it for $30 million in 2008.
The boat is back in Iraqi waters after the country won a legal battle with Jordan over its ownership last year. It has since been to Greece to undergo renovations.
The 82m (270ft) Ocean Breeze is equipped with swimming pools, an operating theatre, a helipad and an escape tunnel leading to a submarine.

The Louis Vuitton Trophy is a two-week sailing event and will take place at the Mina Seyahi, the home of Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC).
