With Baselworld 2009 not far off, Swiss watchmaker Concord has revealed tantalizing images of an avant garde new timepiece, the C1 Quantum Gravity.
511 components come together in unison to create what has to be one of the most incredibly complex watches ever built.
An aerial bi-axial tourbillon mechanism. A vertical power reserve. Individualist seconds. A stripped-down dial and spectacular volumes: the latest specimen from the C Lab Series defies all theories !

This C1 Chronograph comes in a 44mm white gold case made of 53 elements, standing 16mm tall and set with 184 diamonds. A protective ring in white gold, fixed laterally by 7 self-blocking screws is enhanced by eight decorative elements straddling the bezel.
These bastions protect a 3mm thick sapphire crystal, which literally emerges from the case and displays a ruthenium dial set with 259 diamonds and its distinctive Concord seconds disk. Movement is an automatic ETA Valgranges caliber with a 48-hour power reserve and certification as a chronometer by COSC.
It comes on a black or white rubber strap with a white gold folding clasp set with 72 diamonds, 0.6 ct, and is water resistant to 50 meters.
