A round-up of the biggest, brightest and best boat shows to look out for next year.

Yachtmakers from around the world are gearing up to launch new products at the Nautic boat show, which gets underway next weekend in Paris.

Nautic traditionally focuses on the newest craft from luxury French names — although there is plenty on offer for those of varying budgets and interests.

Chief among the stars will be Bénéteau which has launched a slew of new models recently it intends to showcase in Paris.

A renowned yacht designer has unveiled a new concept yacht based on the luxury vehicles of supercar maker Aston Martin.

The Aston Martin Voyage boat was inspired by Aston Martin vehicles such as the Vantage, Rapide, DBS and Virage and was unveiled last week.

De Basto, a Miami-based custom yacht designer, put together the concept as a way to test whether the car brand’s signature design could be transposed onto water.

Genoa is one of the largest boat shows of the year, with thousands of boats and a full program of ‘fringe’ events to ensure it caters for every nautical fan in town.

Some 450 debuts from the world’s biggest shipyards are expected for this 51st edition, spread over three pavilions and two marinas.

The largest flagship of this year’s show will be the CBI 50 ‘Alfos’, a 50 meter yacht, although there will be a dedicated mega-yacht area which is expected to boast some 30 boats with sizes up to 50 meters.

More renowned for its prowess with wheeled vehicles, Toyota Motor Corp. is increasing its seaborne fleet with the launch of a new leisure boat, the Ponam-35.

But the 11.95-meter cruiser is still related to the car manufacturer’s mainstream products as its two V8-cylinder engines are adapted versions of the 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine that can be found in the Toyota Land Cruiser.

And while elsewhere it might be considered unusual for a car firm to dabble in pleasure boats, several of Japan’s other major auto firms also have boat divisions.

Since 2009, Swiss watch Manufacturer Frédérique Constant celebrates the legendary Runabout yachts of the roaring 20s by offering an attractive series of limited edition timepieces named “Runabout”.

To complete the best-selling range, the Geneva-based brand this year introduces a new version: the Runabout Moonphase.
