Benetti will bring the recently delivered 61 metre Diamonds Are Forever to this year’s Cannes Boat Show, making it the largest yacht ever to be on display at the show.

Built in 2011 and with a guest allowance of 12, Diamonds has four decks (complete with an elevator) and plenty of room for relaxing and entertainment.

Rihanna let her hair down recently in the French Riviera aboard on Benetti’s stylish 172-ft. superyacht Latitude, which charters out at about $300,000 a week.

The London Daily Mail reports that the 23-year-old star rented the vessel for some R&R following her performances at the UK’s V Festival.

She thrilled paparazzi with glimpses of a toned bikini bod as she paraded around the yacht’s five decks.

After four thrilling days of exclusive parties, glamourous entertainment and intense networking, the Hainan Rendez-Vous 2011 ended last Monday leaving no doubt about its status as the region’s leading yacht show.

The superyacht show, which also incorporates a business jet exhibit and displays of luxury properties and high-end brands, once again drew crowds of China’s most affluent individuals to Sanya city in the ‘Chinese Riviera’ of Hainan Island.

This year’s edition had twice as many exhibitors as last year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous, and generated several billion RMB worth of transactions.

Michael White of the Ocean Independence has listed the 70 metre Reverie for sale with an asking price of $75,000,000.

The magnificent Reverie has very versatile accommodation for between 18 and 24 guests in 8 cabins with a further two staff or guest cabins.

Yacht maker Benetti and Fendi Casa, the home-furnishing brand of fashion house Fendi, have collaborated to produce Lady Lara, the 194-foot custom megayacht.

Fendi Casa – under the direction of interior design firm Studio Massari – has provided the furnishings for Lady Lara, which Benetti delivered last summer.

The glamorous touch has been achieved by the use of warm colours, as well as incorporation of gold, silver and mother of pearls.

“First there were summer house shares, then fractional jet ownership. Apparently, the next step in spreading the wealth is Synchrony, which offers syndicated yacht ownership.”

Indeed, owning a yacht is far from a practical proposition, with a high buy-in cost, increasing annual costs and a depreciating asset that remains unused for much of the year.

Synchrony, which is based in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, is said to differ from other fractional yacht companies as it offers full access to yachts for up to six weeks per year — with fewer responsibilities.
