Tumi has unveiled a bulletproof attaché. For those seeking extra protection for their documents, only 28 pieces are being produced, each with a $5,995 price tag.
The secret behind the bag’s highly resistant structure is Tegris—a polypropylene thermoplastic composite created by Milliken, a company that uses the material in protective gear for NFL players, NASCAR drivers, and military personnel.
Tegris is applied in layers to strengthen the fabric; Tumi’s attaché has been layered with 65 sheets of Tegris, the certifiable amount for bulletproof wear.
Tumi’s attaché features sleek leather trim around the edges as well as plush suede lining and leather pockets inside. It also has a file divider and a false bottom, which allows for additional storage hidden beneath the main compartment.
