Designers Rework the Queen’s Crown
In celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Harrods’ Brompton Road windows currently feature 31 crowns designed by the world’s leading brands.
Luxury London department store Harrods has filled its windows with 31 one-off crowns made exclusively by an array of iconic British and international designers ranging from Paul Smith to Valentino.
The creators all reworked the elaborate St. Edward’s Crown, which was worn by Elizabeth for her coronation back in 1953.
The likes of Valentino and De Beers (above) went for classically majestic creations — the latter’s features 974 diamonds.
Roberto Cavalli (above) dared to be different with fur detailing and Paul Smith (below) referenced HRH’s favorite pet with a miniature corgi detail.
