Lexus has officially reveiled its two-seat supercar — the LFA — at the Tokyo Motor Show which is expected to hit the road by early 2011.

The Lexus LFA is Lexus’s first true supercar and is built from scratch using no major parts sourced from other vehicles.

The LFA features a carbon fiber monocoque chassis with aluminum front and rear subframes providing perfect rigidity with little additional weight.

The specifications of the new Lexus supercar are impressive enough: a 4.8-liter V10 with 560 ps (552 bhp), 354 lb-ft torque, a zingy 9,000 rpm redline, six-speed sequential gearbox, 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 202 mph.

Only 500 units will be produced at a cost of $375,000 and they are currently available to order from Lexus dealers. Despite the colossal price tag, Lexus expects to take a loss on each one.
