Infiniti is to team up with a group of leading chefs to add extra elegance to a new concept set to be unveiled as part of the Monterey Auto Week in California.

The Japanese brand is working with Hearst Magazines to showcase the new Infiniti JX Concept, which will be revealed at the 61st Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

As part of the reveal, chocolate, cheese and wine tasting sessions have been scheduled, as well as cooking demonstrations from US celebrity chefs including Tyler Florence, Marc Forgione, and Andrew Carmellini.

The new Infiniti JX concept is set to be a close representation of the production version of the 2013 Infiniti JX, which will be formally unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The seven-passenger model uses a three-row layout and is a luxury crossover aimed at large families, described by an Infiniti spokesperson as “a seven passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now.”

Details are still thin on the ground, but Infiniti has confirmed that it will feature “innovative” third row access, along with premium interiors and an “advanced” telematics and entertainment system.

It will be available at Infiniti retailers from spring next year, although no pricing has been confirmed.

Monterey Auto Week runs August 15-21 and culminates with the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21, one of the world’s most prestigious classic car shows.
