Rolls Royce Phantom Shaheen & Baynunah For UAE

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced that new Bespoke Phantoms have arrived in Abu Dhabi.

The cars are based on two different motifs which are inspired by the city’s rich culture and natural landscape.

The two Bespoke Phantoms in question are inspired by Shaheen (a very famous falcon) and by Baynounah (one of the historical places in Abu Dhabi City).

What is the best way to pour champagne?

French researchers have figured out how to keep your champagne robust with bubbles according to a new study published in the August 11 print edition of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

Gerard Liger-Belair, a professor and author of Uncorked: the Science of Champagne, led the study with a team of scientists and found “a beer-like way of serving” champagne at lower temperatures preserved the bubbles or CO2 best.

Pouring the champagne slowly into an angled glass “impacted its concentration of dissolved CO2 significantly less.

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban have splashed out $10million on a luxurious Manhattan penthouse apartment, into which they can drive their car.

Kidman and Urban’s new pad in Chelsea comes with an ‘en suite Sky Garage’, a car elevator that will let them take their limo all the way up to the 6th floor.

The building, which has stunning Hudson River views, is the first in New York City to get the feature, the Dailymail reports.

The world’s best hotel rooftops

The view from the top of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel has been ranked the best hotel rooftop view in the world by users of price comparison website Trivago.

The luxury Dubai hotel, which offers views of the Persian Gulf from a manmade island accessible via a walkway or from the 24th floor “Uptown Bar” in the main building, topped the list of global hotels that offer impressive views.

In second place was the Lebua hotel at State Tower in Bangkok, which offers sprawling views of the Thai capital from its protruding bar on the 63rd floor.

1933 Delage takes Pebble Beach’s top honor

A prewar vehicle once used for transporting hotel guests at a Madrid hotel has been named “Best of Show” at the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The 1933 Delage D8S De Villars Roadster was named the top car out of the 250 collector cars from 14 countries that were showcased on the Pebble Beach Golf Course this past weekend.

As well as being used to transport guests of the Gran Hotel Velasquez in Madrid, Spain, the 1933 Delage also made an appearance at the 1933 Salon de Paris.

Harvard tops Forbes list of Billionaire Universities

With 62 of its alumni now billionaires, Harvard tops Forbes’ list of ‘Billionaire Universities’, followed by Stanford that boasts of 28 billionaire graduates.

The number of Harvard alumni who are billionaires swelled to 62, up from 54 in 2009, “more than any other American university by a long shot,” Forbes said.

Harvard’s billionaire alumni are an accomplished group. They include Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and media tycoon Sumner Redstone.

Taj Mahal Palace hotel reopens

A cascade of red rose petals, cheers and loud applause on Thursday heralded the full reopening this weekend of Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace hotel, over 18 months after it was stormed by Islamist militants.

The 107-year-old heritage wing of the luxury seafront hotel will receive guests from Sunday — Indian Independence Day — for the first time since it was badly damaged by fire, smoke and explosions in the deadly 60-hour siege.

A total of 1.75 billion rupees (37.3 million dollars) has been spent repairing, restoring and upgrading the wing, Anil Goel, executive director of finance at the Indian Hotels Company, which owns the Taj, told a news conference.

Swedish driver faces $1 million fine for speeding

Police in Switzerland said on monday they had seized a Swedish motorist’s $240,000 sports car after he was caught doing 290 kph on a Swiss motorway.

The 37-year-old Swedish citizen was driving a black Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS, which carries a 570-horsepower engine.

With a speed limit of 120 kph (70 mph), the driver swept by a permanent speed trap but was spotted by local police.

The Lotus Exos Type 125 will be produced in a series of just 25 units, with some published reports suggesting a million euro pricetag.

The car is built using a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and uses a wide front wing and a narrow rear one (just like the 2009 season F1 cars).

A luxury penthouse in London has sold for a record-breaking £140 million ($220 million), as the market for “trophy homes” bucks the wider property slump.

The two-floor apartment at the One Hyde Park development in Knightsbridge features bullet-proof windows, an air purifying system and a panic room.

The new owners will have access to 24-hour room service from the neighbouring Mandarin Oriental hotel, and protection from SAS-trained security guards.

The second yacht to be launched in Feadship’s XL custom yacht series, it’s the largest and most expensive Feadhsip ever built.

The Musashi’s massive steel hull was constructed by Feadship’s dedicated hull-building facility in Netherlands, and was delivered to Makkum for outfitting.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Arabia

British ultra-luxury automaker Bentley will be producing two separate special edition Continental models for the Middle-East market only.

The two models will be the Continental Flying Spur Arabia and the Continental Flying Spur Speed Arabia.

Only 50 examples will be produced, available exclusively through Bentley‘s nine dealers in the region that accounts for 10% of its sales annually.
