Largest Louis Vuitton boutique in South-East Asia

Last month, Louis Vuitton opened the largest boutique in Southeast Asia at Singapore’s luxurious ION Orchard in Orchard Road.

The 905 square meter concept store was designed by Front Inc. of New York while the interiors were developed by the Louis Vuitton Malletier’s architecture team.

The duplex store showcases the luxury brand’s first curved glass facade, inspired by the “folds of a scarf”.

Brooklyn’s Most Expensive Apartment

A striking triplex penthouse apartment in a clock tower overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and New York Harbor has gone on the market for $25 million.

The Dumbo building was built by a cardboard box manufacturer and renovated by Dumbo developer David Walentas.

The main floor of the sleek modern apartment is dominated by four working clocks housed in four 14-foot-high round windows.

Brent Black, renowned authority and preeminent purveyor of handwoven straw hats, is now offering the world’s finest Montecristi Panama for $100,000.

Simply referred to as “The Hat”, this one has been exquisitely woven from fine toquilla straw that too only in Ecuador.

The Hat was commissioned by Black from the king of the master weavers Simón Espinal, who lives in the village of Píle in Montecristi Canton.

Chinese bride wears 2.2km dress

A bride from China’s Jilin Province on Thursday dressed in world’s longest wedding gown (2,162-meter long), Xinhua agency said.

The groom, Zhao Peng, said he was actually inspired by the world’s record of the longest wedding dress made in Romania in April when he planned his wedding.

Zhao said initially his family strongly opposed this idea as his mother thought this idea was a waste of money, before he persuaded them.

Mumm in the Great Barrier Reef

G.H.Mumm partnered with renowned Chef Mauro Colagreco to create a gastronomic Dinner on a sand bank on July, 14th 2009.

G.H Mumm chose the Great Barrier Reef, and asked Chef Mauro Colagreco to prepare a gastronomic lunch in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, on a pristine sandbank on the Great Barrier Reef.

Magnifying these resources in their natural setting was the challenge that Mauro Colagreco had to rise to.

Warhol’s Jackson goes to auction

A 1984 portrait by Andy Warhol of the late singer Michael Jackson will go on display at London’s O2 arena before being sold at auction in New York.

The artwork was commissioned by TIME Magazine to celebrate the record sales of Jackson’s album Thriller

Since the death of Jackson and since Warhol passed long ago, the portrait is causing fans and art investors to drool over the possibility of owning this piece of art.

Dunhill have commissioned Jaeger LeCoultre to create a line of watches for them using their movements furthering the relationship started earlier this year with the release of the Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock for Dunhill.

The collection consists of the Dunhill Facet and the Dunhill Classic.

The Dunhill Facet uses the Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 822 automatic movement and is available in either white or rose gold for a price range of $5,130-$9,830.

Rare 50-year-old Macallan whisky auctioned

A single bottle of 50-year-old Macallan Anniversary has sold for £11,750 ($19,700) at auction in Glasgow.

The 50-year-old Macallan, a bottling of three casks distilled between 1926 and 1928, sold to a private collector in California at McTear’s auctioneers.

It is the most expensive bottle sold this year and the most expensive 50-year-old bottle of Macallan ever sold.

2009 Bentley Continental GT By Romero Britto

To celebrate its 90th anniversary, Bentley Motors collaborated with artist Romero Britto to paint the first concept car of its kind ever to be designed, a prototype Bentley Continental GT.

The car is on display at Romero’s “Come to my World” exhibit in Berlin and, according to Romero himself, has been created to ‘put a smile on people’s faces’.

The design of the car itself features a number of symbols including stars, a happy flower, hearts and an all-over print of squiggle lines.

Hybrid Lamborghini Coming in 2015

In a recent interview with the German Magazine Automobilewoche, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that Lamborghini is planning to launch a hybrid Gallardo.

Winkelmann said that, while Lamborghini is planning to go green, it isn’t about to forget about performance and the pleasure of owning a supercar.

The new hybrid will consist of a small electric motor for slow moving urban traffic but will switch to its V-10 or V-12 engine when on the open road.

An Xbox 360 video game console signed by outgoing Gov. Palin has been listed on the auction site eBay for a whopping opening bid of $1.1 million.

“You can own this … one-of-a-kind item before her expected run for president of the United States of America in 2012,” says the seller.

Palin recently resigned as governor of Alaska for what many believe to be a presidential run in 2012.

Gucci Flash Sneaker Stores

Frida Giannini, Gucci’s creative director, collaborated with Mark Ronson on the design of Gucci Ronson sneakers for their new Gucci Icon-Temporary store.

The temporary store is slated to open in six to eleven locations around the world staying open for two or three weeks in each spot.

The first Gucci Icon-Temporary store will debut at Crosby Street in New York on 23 October; other spots will include London, Berlin, Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

World’s Most Expensive Tea Bag

In 2005, a British jeweller made the world’s most expensive tea bag to celebrate the 75th birthday of PG Tips.

The bag was studded with 280 diamonds and worth £7,500.

Pete Harbour, spokesman for PG Tips said: “As it’s our 75th birthday, we wanted to do something special to remind people just how much they love the great British cup of tea.”
