The Deauville Villa Vuitton Store Opening

Louis Vuitton’s mock Tudor store in Deauville, France has gotten a facial lift.

Renamed the Villa Vuitton, the 960-square-foot boutique is typical of Normandy architecture and carries accessories and leather goods over two floors.

To celebrate the opening Louis Vuitton launched a limited edition Neverfull bag with “Deauville” written in purple on the front with matching interior stripes.

Gold beer mug launches in Japan

June is the traditional start of the Japanese rainy season and you can be golden for showers with this solid gold mug that is so appropriate for getting through this Great Recession.

Worth $50,000, the item has been introduced as part of gold manufacturer Ginza Tanaka’s latest collection.

The firm has created the Summer Cool range with items that are believed to relieve the heat during the summer months and the mug features 850g of gold.

High flying Abramovich buys airport

Billionaire Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich is topping other high fliers with private jets – by splashing out on his own airport, it was reported today (monday).

Abramovich is heading a syndicate of Russian tycoons in a bid to snap up Tassignano airport in northern Italy as an investment.

The terminal – worth more than 4 million GBP – is near a settlement of exclusive villas and holiday homes, reports Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper.

A Porsche 911 convertible previously owned by Cristiano Ronaldo is for sale on Auto Trader.

The 24-year-old Reds forward – who is heading to Madrid in a world-record £80m move – has sold his two-year-old Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Tiptronic to a dealer who has now put it on the market for £70,000.

Under the bonnet of Ronaldo’s black supercar is a 3.8 litre engine with 355bhp allowing acceleration of 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds.

Porsche has announced the release of a documentary film about its history, entitled “The Porsche Way”.

The two-and-a-half hour film tells the story of the German automaker in eight chapters, starting with Ferdinand Porsche and his son, Ferry.

Using footage from more than 5000 hours of archived films, races, commercials and interviews, the DVD presents a number of never before scenes of the Company, the product and Porsche motorsport.

MGM Mirage plans hotel in Egypt

The gaming giant on Tuesday announced its latest push to spread its name around the world, this time through a partnership to build an MGM Grand nongaming luxury hotel near Cairo, Egypt.

MGM Grand New Giza will be a 550-room hotel that will be part of a 1,500-acre master-planned community.

The community will include homes, three hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, golf courses and other sports facilities.

World’s largest floating hotel due to open in 2012

Britain sent the decommissioned QE2 (Queen Elizabeth 2) to the Gulf as a floating hotel. Now Dubai is to return the favour, building the world’s biggest yacht to be anchored beside the Thames as a floating hotel.

The Aquiva is expected to be the world’s largest pleasure boat.

Bombardier Adjusts Business Jet Forecast

Bombardier business jet

Bombardier is reducing its 10-year industry forecast for business jet deliveries by nearly 15 percent from last year because of the global recession.

The world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer said Monday it now expects there will be 11,500 business jets delivered by the industry between 2009 and 2018.

Bombardier said the industry for new business aircraft will face challenges of a negative public perception about the use of private planes and a difficult economic climate.
