Diamond Cupcake

Mervis Diamond Importers claim to be the first to create a diamond cupcake.

The cupcake is festooned with eight ideal cut round brilliant diamonds around its circumference and a two carat Asscher cut diamond in the center for a total value of $30,000.

Mr. Mervis hopes the dazzling dessert will be listed as the world’s first diamond cupcake in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Hana Table by Shige Hasegawa

Japanese designer Shige Hasegawa has created the Hana Table, which he will be exhibiting at the SaloneSatellite event during the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair.

“Hana” actually means flower in Japanese, which is pretty clearly the inspiration for this table.

Inspired by origami, the Hana table is constructed from five flower pedal-shaped plywood legs which collectively hold up the glass table top without the use of additional screws or bolts.

Giselle Bundchen bets and wins $500,000

The Brazilian top model Gisele Bundchen, darling of the cameras, advertisers, and tabloids, and worth an estimated $150 million, loves soccer and bets and also… Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese soccer coach of Italian Serie A team Inter.

So, the exuberant 28-year-old beauty, celebrated this week on Vanity Fair USA with the words “And God created Gisele”, won $500,000 with British-based bookmaker Stanleybet International betting on soccer, and in particular on Inter team that probably will win Italian title.

A London house goes on sale for £100 million

Despite the global economic collapse, a luxury terrace house in Belgravia has gone on sale for a record £100 million ($150 million).

The six-story property in Belgravia, central London, has 20-foot ceilings, luxurious fixtures and more than 21,000 square feet of living space.

Along with Candy Spelling’s mansion, this white-stucco-fronted house at No. 10 Belgrave Square, owned by Lebanese developer Musa Salem, is now the most expensive home on the market in the world.

AsiaSpa’s sixth anniversary party

AsiaSpa’s sixth anniversary party was nothing less than a celebratory occasion, held at the hottest Hong Kong spot – Prive.

More than 250 turned up in white and gold for the Grecian-themed event. Guests were greeted by flutes of bubbly and models in Greek garb.

The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief made a speech in honour of the milestone along with Blu Inc Managing Director Olivier Burlot (below).

Madonna buys $40 million New York home

Madonna has bought a Manhattan mansion with 13 bedrooms for $US40 million, the New York Post reported on Tuesday.

The paper noted that despite the high price tag, the 26-room mansion on the Upper East Side still shook from the nearby subway trains.

However, Madonna evidently overlooked this inconvenience in favour of having such rare New York amenities as a two-car garage, a 3,000sqm garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator, a wine cellar with a grotto, 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

Picture of the day : a Clamped Bugatti Veyron

To their credit, the police in Slovakia evidently make no exceptions for $1.5 million supercars.

There are supposedly two Bugatti Veyrons registered in the European country, and this one is said to belong to Zoroslav Kollar, an attorney and owner of a Czech tractor maker and holding company.

Apparently Kollar’s Veyron was parked a little too long at the Hviezdoslavovo Square in Bratislava
and the police slapped a boot on the Bugatti’s 12-spoke wheels.

Versace has just opened a new flagship store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

With black granite marble for the floors, white lacquer effect work on the walls, and a clear blown glass curtain chandelier, the store is looking as luxe as ever.

It will house complete collections for men and women, including accessories, eyewear, watches, fine jewelry, fragrance and Versace Home

Limited edition Prince Opus iPod touch for $2,100

Damon Dash’s luxury Tiret Sport Coupe

Damon Dash unveiled a new 2-door luxury SUV at the Baselworld 2009 in Switzerland.

Designed by Dame’s luxury timepiece and jewelry brand, the truck, that got diamonds in it, is based on the Range Rover Sport body.

It will be available by special order at an undisclosed price and features nappa leather seats, fine wood trim, special custom watch dial displays built in derived from Tiret’s diamond timepieces, as well as an elegant central clock.

Monopoly : Own it all

The Monopoly board game, published by Parker Brothers, has a colourful print advertising campaign developed in Germany, using the tag line, “Own it all”.

Four photographs of actual properties, washed in green and red, show 124 Mediterranean Avenue and 74 Baltic Avenue (the two cheapest properties on the board), 807 Boardwalk and 153 Pennsylvania Avenue (two of the most expensive on the board).

The Monopoly “Own It All” campaign was developed at JWT Frankfurt, Germany by art director Petra Sievers.

Russian Billionaires Reluctant to Give Up Their Toys

For most of the decade, Russian billionaires spent hundreds of millions of dollars on boats, jets, expensive art and the occasional football team.

But, despite strained bank accounts and public outrage, the tycoons have been loath to part with their expensive trinkets, choosing instead to hunker down and wait for better days.

To be sure, these are not happy days for the country’s superrich.

In Forbes magazine‘s latest ranking of the world’s wealthiest people, Russia’s billionaires had an estimated collective loss of $369 billion last year, and two-thirds fell from the list altogether.
