Viktor & Rolf for Samsonite Black Label
Samsonite Black Label has collaborated with Viktor & Rolf to produce a range of luggage and accessories following their well-established link with Alexander McQueen.
The collection is inspired by the golden age of travel, yet with a Viktor & Rolf twist, making them look like toys with colourful aeroplane prints, large bows and oversized hardware.
“To emphasise the fun of the collection, we developed a white custom-built 1960’s airport, complete with aircraft, ground vehicles and crew.”

The Liverpool FC Legends Edition phone
Liverpool have launched a must-have mobile phone celebrating the club’s glorious history – there’s just one catch.
The 18-carat gold handset features a sapphire crystal screen on the bottom and engraved is the Liverpool logo, which further is studded with 18 diamonds marking the number of the club’s league title victories.
The handsets are available in a limited edition of 250 and each phone comes encased in a North African black walnut box, lined with red velvet.

Dutch car manufacturer Spyker unveiled its updated version of the C8, the Aileron.
Power is sourced from Audi, coming in the form of a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 producing 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft torque.

Asia Boating Award winners revealed
Singapore was crowned Asia’s Maritime Capital at the fifth edition of the Asia Boating Awards, held at the prestigious Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Shanghai.
This is the second time the Lion City has been awarded the sought-after accolade – last year’s prize went to Qingdao, China.
The award recognises the tremendous effort that has been put into turning that city into a sailing and boating hub.

LVMH denies Moët Hennessy sale reports
Luxury goods group LVMH Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton has denied it is in negotiations to sell wines and spirits division Moët Hennessy.
A report in the Daily Telegraph newspaper suggested that liquor company Diageo was considering a €12bn ($15.5bn) takeover of LVMH’s drinks arm, which includes brands such as Dom Pérignon, Moët & Chandon, Krug and Veuve Clicquot champagnes, Hennessy cognac and Glenmorangie Scotch whisky.
Diageo’s links with LVMH go back 22 years, when Guinness – one of the groups which went to create Diageo – struck up a joint venture.

Lincoln stamp trove scores nearly $2M at auction
A Georgia man’s collection of more than 10,000 Abraham Lincoln stamps has sold at auction in New York City for a total of nearly $2 million.
The collection was amassed by William Ainsworth, a retired executive from the consulting and accounting firm KPMG.
He inherited his father’s stamp collection more than 40 years ago. Until 1977, he paid it little mind, but a meeting with a former postmaster general changed his thinking.

New fragrance by the house of Gucci, named Flora by Gucci, aims at young customers and it was inspired by a floral motive.
The name comes from their “iconic” floral print Flora which was first revealed on a Gucci scarf back in in 1966 for the royal Princess Grace.
Flora is, after Gucci by Gucci, the second fragrance under creative leadership of the house of Giannini from Florence.

2010 Jaguar XJ: Official Teaser and Details Revealed
Jaguar’s managing director Mike O’Driscoll announced at this week’s 2009 Shanghai motor show, that Jaguar’s highly-anticipated next-generation XJ sedan will debut on the 9th of July in London.
The all-new XJ is the first car to feature the next-generation of Jaguar’s aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture and features a panoramic glass roof.
All of Jaguar’s new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8.

Saudi Prince Puts Singapore Raffles up For Sale
It’s a tough business being a billionaire during a credit crunch.
Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia has put the prestigious Raffles Hotel in Singapore up for sale for a price tag of up to $450 million, media reported on Thursday.
Apparently Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia is down to his last $13bn (£8.7bn), which is something of a pittance when you consider he was worth $21bn last year.
