Mandarin Royal Hotel Burns

The Mandarin Royal Hotel, a 44-storey luxury hotel in the center of Beijing burned completely yesterday in a massive fire during the final celebrations for the Chinese New Year.

The luxury hotel has been under construction for 7 years and was due to open later this year.

There are some suggestions that a firework may have started the blaze.

Amazon introduced Amazon Kindle 2, latest generation of his reading device with a significantly slimmer design and longer battery life (up to 4 days with wireless on, two weeks with wireless off).

The Kindle 2 features a high-resolution 6-inch electronic paper display (600 x 800 pixel), faster page turns, a sharper greyscale screen, 2GBs of storage, and external stereo speakers and a new read-to-me feature.

Victoria Beckham’s collection

Victoria Beckham impressed buyers and editors on debut of her first collection of 10 dresses, released few months ago. The new brand, representing Victoria Beckham’s sophisticated style, is quite adorable.

Made in luxury materials such as silk, organza, gazar, taffeta, fine cottons, each dress is cut and contoured into the perfect hourglass figure, with special seams along the derriere and torso to ensure against flat rear ends and busts.

“Every woman who wears these dresses can have great posture and look great from every angle” said Mrs Beckham.

PremiAir launches the London Heliport Shuttle Service

PremiAir announced today (Feb 10) the launch of a new helicopter transfer service – the London Heliport Shuttle.

The new service offers dedicated flights to meet private jet arrivals from the UK’s key business aviation airports, whisking passengers to the London Heliport in Battersea.

The launch recognises the fact that some 40% of PremiAir’s traffic now connects with private jet arrivals into UK airports.

This beautiful little movie, directed by Bruno Aveillan won several awards like one Gold Clio Award 2008 for “Best Cinematography” and one Gold London International Award 2008.

Through this campaign the Haute Couture Icon Louis Vuitton wants to promote the brand itself, and not a specific product.

Images and music combine to create an atmosphere of escape as the camera encounters landscapes and faces as if in a dream, accompanied by the captivating Gypsy guitar of composer Gustavo Santaolalla, who won Oscars for his scores of Babel and Brokeback Mountain.

A bag from this brand appears in the entire ad only once and then comes a question: “Where will life take you?â”

1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa to break the world record auction price

At the “Ferrari Leggenda e Passione”, an exclusive event held annually in Maranello, Italy, during the Mille Miglia, this year on May 17, RM/Sothebys auction will present the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa race car.

This masterpiece of design and engineering is expected to break the world record for the most expensive vintage motor car ever to be sold at auction.

The record is currently held by a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder which was sold for USD 10,894,400 (€7,040,000, £5,598,208 GBP) at least year’s Ferrari Leggenda e Passione, on May 18, 2008.

Nude photo of 20 year old Madonna on auction

A 20 year old nude photo of Madonna will be on auction at Christie’s house in New York, February 12.

The photograph titled ‘Nude’, which earned Madonna a $25 modeling fee, is expected to sell for $10,000, at the very least. It’s a full frontal image, taken by Lee Friedlander in 1979 and published in Playboy in 1985.

Madonna was a dancer – says Matthieu Humery, head of Christie’s photography department – when she answered Friedlander’s newspaper ad seeking a nude model.

Louis Vuitton luggage set for new Infiniti concept

Infiniti, Nissan’s re-badged luxury brand, has announced its collaboration with Louis Vuitton for the creation of a bespoke set of luggage for a concept car to be revealed at the 2009 International Geneva Motor Show next month.
