The Cartier Tank Americaine Tourbillon Volant watch is animated by the hand-wound Calibre 9452 MC, Cartier’s first in-house tourbillon caliber.

The movement comprises 19 jewels and 142 spinning, moving and rotating parts beeping at 21,600 bph and providing a 50 hours power reserve.

Victoria Beckham models for the Emporio Armani Underwear Spring/summer 2009 campaign, which was again shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. (Her husband David shot the men’s version of the Emporio Armani underwear line.)

The 34-year-old former Spice Girl has said, “It’s an honor to have been selected by Mr. Armani to represent the Emporio Armani Underwear brand and to execute his vision with the incredibly talented team of Mert & Marcus.”

Posh is locked into a three-year deal, for which, according to the Daily Mail, she was paid $24 million. Billboards, magazines, blogs — Posh’s six-pack is about to be all over them until 2012.

Karl Lagerfeld has been fraternising with the enemy and proves that he is just as good as a photographer as he is a designer with this new Dior Homme by Kris Van Assche Spring Summer 2009 ad campaign that he lensed.

The campaign features Brazilian model Marlon Teixeira.

Lagerfeld is an outspoken fan of the label – he credits losing 42kg in weight to his desire to wear it. “I suddenly wanted to dress differently, to wear clothes designed by Hedi Slimane,” he said at the time in 2007.

Paris Mayor Blocks Emir of Qatar’s Mansion Plans

The mayor of Paris is blocking the Emir of Qatar’s plans for a multimillion-dollar renovation of the Hotel Lambert, an historic 17th century mansion in the Quai d’Anjou on the city’s ÃŽle Saint-Louis.

Bertrand Delanoe says that the alterations to the 17th century mansion on the exclusive Saint Louis island in the heart of Paris including an underground carpark, the addition of elevators and new rooms, will spoil the important heritage of the building.

He wants the owner to re-consider and look at more friendly way to renovate the three-storey Hotel which was built in 1639 by Louis Le Vau and is part of a Unesco World Heritage site.

LE BOOK New York 2009 by Stephen Sprouse

LE BOOK – the international reference for the creative industry – announces the release of its New York 2009 edition, art by fashion “punk glamor god and design icon Stephen Sprouse (1953-2004).

In what seems to be the “Year of Sprouse”, the publication celebrates his life with a three-volume reference featuring rare snapshots and sketches while showcasing the designer’s work including album covers, sets and multi-media installations while dressing the likes of Madonna, Courtney Love, and Mick Jagger.

Stephen Sprouse personified the downtown club scene in NYC in the 80’s as well as clothing another fashion icon, Vogue’s Polly Mellon. Sprouse was close friends with his muse Debbie Harry and Andy Warhol.

Claude Monet’s painting ‘Dans La Prairie’ goes under the hammer

A painting by Claude Monet, which is said to have started the new trend of ‘Impressionism’ with its colour-filled canvas, built with darting brushstrokes, is to go under the hammer next month.

The painting, Dans La Prairie, painted in 1876 and first shown at an exhibition in Paris in 1877, features the artist’s wife Camille almost submerged in a flower-strewn field in Argenteuil, to the north of Paris.

Monet’s skill in capturing the scene even bedazzled his contemporary, Paul Cezanne.

Manchester City launch €100m bid for Kaka

Manchester City are reported to have made a sensational 100 million euro bid for AC Milan’s Brazilian star Kaka.

Reports claim that a delegation from Eastlands travelled to Italy on Tuesday to hold talks with their Milan counterparts.

City are believed to have tabled a 100million euro offer and would be willing to pay Kaka 15million euros per season but the Brazilian superstar has insisted he wants to “grow old” at AC Milan.

Australia offers “The Best Job In The World”

Australia is offering internationally what it calls “the best job in the world” – earning a top salary for lazing around a beautiful tropical island for six months.

The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (105,000 US dollars) and includes free airfares from the winner’s home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland’s state government announced on Tuesday.

In return, the “island caretaker” will be expected to stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of “a few minor tasks” and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates.
