We like the new Sinus chair from Cor. Makes you want to seat on it and stretch your legs…

Originally designed in 1976, Reinhold Adolf and Hans-Jürgen Schröpfer’s reissued Sinus chair offers comfort and support, together with contemporary design.

Even in 1976 the Sinus chair was ahead of its time, with swinging spring steel rockers and upholstery as unusual as it is comfortable.

The most expensive piece of art ever made

Michael Marcovici has created an artwork worth a billion dollars, out of a billion dollars.

In the words of the artist “One Billion Dollars is stacked on 12 standard pallets, altogether 10 Million 100 USD Notes. One Billion Dollar is not so much about what you see but what you could do or not do with the money. Besides this it is the most expensive piece of art ever made.”

The final product is nothing exceptional except that one can see real hard cash stacked up together in one place. According to Artbase, there is a strategy currently being employed to physically realise this project…

“You know that you’ve always wanted one. A watch to do all things, from being your telephone to being your own TV. Well LG has decided to make this myth a reality. It’s been tried before, but for once, this actually looks like something you could wear.”

The watch has a touchscreen for use with dialling, with an integrated speaker and camera allowing you to make video calls over a high speed internet connection.

You can also listen to MP3s on the LG watch phone plus it transforms text to speech and recognises voices. LG has confirmed the watch phone will be available in Europe next year. Via unplggd

ELuxury.com to Shutter Retail Operation

An article in WWD last week said that LVMH will be closing down the retail operations of eLuxury over the next six months. They are going to make it into an online magazine focusing on the “world of luxury”.

The official reason is “(…) because many of the brands it sells have developed their own online presences“.

According to The luxe chronicles, there might be another reason : Despite having the kind of unprecedented access to some of the most desirable luxury and fashion merchandise in the world and the kind of financial heft and expertise only a luxury empire of LVMH’s magnitude can deploy, they never became the premiere destination for online luxury shopping they were once destined to become.

Golden Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower was hailed as a stunning symbol of Japan’s recovery from the devastation of World War II when it opened on December 23, 1958.

Though much has changed in the last 50 years, Tokyo Tower, named the 20th tallest tower in the world, still faithfully performs its original prime function of beaming telecommunication signals across Japan’s largest city.

This year, the Tokyo Tower celebrates its 50th anniversary; to commemorate this momentous occasion, jeweler Ginza Tanaka has created a miniature 24-carat replica called the Golden Tokyo Tower.

Taking its inspiration from the shingles water has polished over time, the Golden Stones collection by Brazilian jeweller H. Stern borrows their rounded, organic shapes.

Wearing these jewels is like adorning oneself with a necklace or a bracelet of pebbles carefully picked on a riverbed.

strong>Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin has just come out with the newest model in its Les Historiques line, the distinctive American 1921.

La Perla – Black Label Collection for Valentine’s Day

I have recently attended La Perla’s fashion show in Hong Kong and I loved it ! This season, the theme is Welcome to Hell !

An exciting journey into Dante’s Inferno, a tour into the wardrobe of a lost angel. Fire and flames on lace, tulle as light as smoke, shiny and voluptuous satin. An ardent style with an unmistakable fragrance of sin.

On the picture above, the model – Jaana – was wearing a black transparent tulle and satin American bra, culotte and Suspender Belt, with mysterious lockets-like oval patterns, accessorized with breathtaking bat wings.

I am not sure if it is available in the US but this is a great Valentine’s Day gift idea for your girl though : )

Chanel Guitar

Chanel guitar

If you’re on the lookout for a signature Chanel piece from the Spring 2009 collection, the black guitar is certainly it.

Debuted at the Paris Spring 2009 Fashion Week, the guitar is a black instrument, with Chanel discretely spelled out across the front.

The strap is elegantly striped in brown white and black with intertwining C’s in leather where the strap attaches. The most elegant piece of all is the guitar’s case (below), in Chanel’s signature quilt pattern and in stylish white.

The sexy black nylon string acoustic retails for a mere £2,800.
