Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail has launched their Rémy Martin Louis XIII Rare Cask Cognac which is being touted as “supremely rare”.
Baccarat artisans have created a fresh version of the iconic Louis XIII decanter, whose shape was inspired by an ancient metal flask that was found in the mid 19th Century on the site of a 16th Century battleground.
Handcrafted in black crystal, more than 50 operations are necessary to make a Louis XIII decanter, all of which must be executed by a team of some 20 master craftsmen working together before the glass cools.
The neck of the decanter is dressed in palladium.
The decanter is presented in a coffret forged in metal. Mirrors and internal lighting aim to display the lustre of the black crystal, and the neck of the decanter is secured by a metal clasp that is designed to present the black crystal stopper like a precious jewel.
The coffret is embellished with a quatrefoil design inspired by the royal fleur-de-lys of France, aiming to offer a contemporary rendition of a traditional motif that celebrates the historic roots of Louis XIII.
Only 786 bottles are available worldwide and each bottle comes for a price of €10,000 (about $15,000).
