Now that Australian chef and restaurateur Luke Mangan is on board the Eastern & Oriental Express train in Asia, gone are the days when you have to make do with the merely sumptuous fare offered aboard.

Together with the route’s Executive Chef Yannis Martineau, Mangan and his Singapore-based team will offer a holistic culinary experience that includes a morning tour of an exotic food market in Singapore, before boarding the Malaysia and Thailand-bound train. Fans of the prolific chef will also be glad to know that he will host a book signing of his latest book Salt Grill, Fine Dining for the whole family.

Mangan isn’t new to luxury collaborations – he has worked with cruise lines and an airline besides 19 terrestrial restaurants. “My team and I are absolutely thrilled to have partnered with Eastern & Oriental Express and are looking forward to now evolving our Salt Grill restaurant experience from being on shore and at sea, to on board one of Belmond’s luxury trains. We want to ensure our customers have access to the best food and beverage experiences around the world. To now be part of the Eastern & Oriental family is undoubtedly a very exciting period of our business and brand.”
