Coral Bay – Sabah’s Proudest Waterfront Property Gem

Nestled between the sea and mountains, Coral Bay located in Sabah, Malaysia is an idyllic waterfront property worthy of investment consideration.

Designed by Singapore-based Swan & Maclaren, Coral Bay’s sinuous architecture is striking from every angle. This prestigious project overlooks the South China Sea and the five islands which form the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. GSH Corporation is proud of this project because it has sold off all of the 100 units released at this ocean-facing luxury condominium in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The 460-unit Coral Bay has some 528,000 square feet of land to work with and is located within the gated community of Sutera Harbour Resort, in the east Malaysian state.

In this 99-year leasehold development, there are eight 12-storey residential towers where homeowners have a choice of two- to four-bedroom units ranging from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet. In addition, there are dual-key units from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet; and penthouses from 3,500 to 9,000 square feet. Prices start from RM 2.9 million (approx. USD 694K). The project has the backdrop of Mount Kinabalu while most of the frontage faces the sea. This bodes well with Chinese fengshui where the elements of “mountain” and “water” are regarded as fortuitous.

Undoubtedly, this project has attracted foreign buyers, about 30 per cent: 20 per cent from Hong Kong and mainland China, 5 per cent from Singapore, and another 5 per cent from Taiwan, Korea and Australia. The remaining 70 per cent units were bought by Malaysians. “We believe that the strong take-up for Coral Bay stems from demand fuelled by a shortage of luxury properties in Kota Kinabalu in recent years,” enthuses GSH’s CEO, Gilbert Ee. It is without a doubt that future homeowners will also enjoy vistas of Kota Kinabalu’s lush, mountainous slopes; in fact, they can also enjoy the verdant 27-hole golf course owned by Sutera Harbour Resort.

Coupled with a gated community, that gives peace of mind to its residents. Residents will never get bored as Coral Bay is in Kota Kinabalu’s city centre where infrastructure amenities abound: lifestyle malls, restaurants, cafes, international schools and private medical centres. These are all located within a short distance. Many future homeowners are focusing on the indulgent life: taking in the sea views on their balconies, going on a yacht adventure to visit nearby islets, enjoying water activities with loved ones and even getting educated on the teeming marine life found at the nearby marine parks.

GSH Corporation’s Executive Chairman Mr Sam Goi explains, “Coral Bay is our second residential project in Malaysia, after the highly successful launch of our Eaton Residences project in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre in 2016 which won two awards for “Best Luxury High-Rise Development” and “Best International Development” by iProperty.com. We are particularly excited about our latest Coral Bay project because of its very unique location, the ocean and mountain vistas.”
