Designed by Luiz de Basto of Miami, the SeaFair’s Grand Luxe is world’s first luxury-exposition megayacht. It will display art, jewelry, and antiques from prestigious U.S. and European museums, art galleries, and jewelers. Sized at 228 foot, it will also be available for private events, offering two five-star quality restaurants, open-air caviar and champagne lounges, and cocktail areas in conjunction with the exhibitions. All events will occur portside only.
It is an innovative concept designed to expand the marketing reach of American and International dealers while revolutionizing interest in the local arts and cultural community. In today’s challenging global environment, this custom-designed exhibition yacht will bring dealers directly to collectors’ seasonal residences rather than requiring the collector to travel a great distance in order to visit world-renowned galleries. The massive three-tiered $20 million Grand Luxe, is currently undergoing ship modifications, and marketing adjustments.

The newest SABDES design comes in the form of a 50 metre (164′) Superyacht that goes against the ‘bigger is more impressive’ yacht trend, instead focusing on producing an exciting, stylish, advanced luxury yacht, efficient in fuel and emissions, with an intent to be environmentally sensitive in both the vessel’s building and cruising life.

Larry Ellison (the founder of Oracle) has a “yacht” so big that he has to dock it where they dock the big ocean liners.
He can no longer cruise into the Harbor at Cannes or Monte Carlo – he’s off in the area where the freighters and tankers are.
To cope with this issue, the people who own these huge yachts, often have a separate yacht they use to get into smaller harbors. They also have helipads as well as other vehicles to use when they are on shore.

Whenever a celebrity tries to sell something expensive on eBay there’s always speculation as to motives, but here’s a case where it’s pretty obvious what the deal is: music producer Scott Storch is short on cash. He’s selling his yacht, called “Tiffany,” on eBay for well under its $20 million value (per Rolling Stone magazine) because apparently he can’t afford to keep it anymore. As of right now it’s going for just under $1,000,000. What a deal.
I’m no eBaying expert but I’m not sure it’s such a great sales technique to display in big bold letters “THE BOAT IS BEING SOLD UNDER DISTRESS ,OWNER BOUGHT HER AND NOW GOT SHORT ON MONEY.” Seems more than a little on the tacky side, and hardly inspires the celebrity “cool” factor that might help it sell for more.
UPDATE: Bidding has ended at $1,000,101, that’s a fair amount of cash but not enough to meet the reserve, looks like Storch is going to have to try again.
