Known for creating the famous dog duo Caprino and Peperone, French artist, Florence Deygas has struck another amazing collaboration - this time with Veuve Clicquot champagne.

“The current collaboration with Veuve Clicquot includes several illustrations using paintbrush techniques over more classic line drawing,” a rep from the champagne company explained.

These illustrations use Veuve Clicquot’s classic red signature across its iconic yellow with scenes that vary from seasons to special occasions.”

Veuve Clicquot : Dry Blizzard

dry blizzard2 468x350 Veuve Clicquot : Dry Blizzard

The concept “Dry Blizzard” is a study of style and a new technical approach to an ice bucket for champagne Veuve Cliquot.

Thomas Lemaire’s ‘Dry Blizzard’ champagne bucket utilizes dry ice and a fan to circulate cold air around the bottle; the double-walled glass design ensures hot hands don’t alter the temperature one iota.

La Grande Dame by Veuve Cliquot

champagne grande dame La Grande Dame by Veuve CliquotGrande Dame Champagne Veuve Cliquot La Grande Dame by Veuve CliquotNew Year’s Eve must have: French artist Andrée Putman created a mysterious presentation box that houses Veuve Clicquot’s La Grande Dame 1998 champagne.

La Grande Dame comes in a special casket that has been designed with a posh look by Andree Putman, interior designer. The casket doesn’t just carry a cubist aura but is also practical since it doubles up as the ice holder (The Veuve website has a video with Andree Putnam as she explains her theory in creating the box).

La Grande Dame from Veuve Cliquot is as luxurious as it comes. The fine bubbly, casing and even the price is going to leave you breathless : the item is only available in a limited edition of 2,000 and the box along with a bottle of the champagne sells for around $500.

A priceless bottle of 115-year-old champagne

priceless champagne veuve A priceless bottle of 115 year old champagneA bottle of 115-year-old champagne has been found in a sideboard at a Scottish castle, BBC reported.

Chris James, the owner of Torosay Castle and Gardens, found the bottle of the distinctly yellow-labelled 1893 Veuve Cliquot champagne in a solid wooden dining room side board, which is a family heirloom. The “secret” compartment did not have a key, so Mr James employed a locksmith in an attempt to bring a family mystery to a conclusion.

The bottle, complete with label, was in mint condition having been kept in the dark throughout.

James contacted Veuve Cliquot in France to enquire whether the bottle was of interest. Veuve Cliquot had no idea when they first used their trademark yellow labels, but the bottle found at the castle was the oldest by a long margin.

Fabienne Huttaux, head of communications there, said: “The bottle is literally priceless. It is a one-off and therefore unique. We would never consider selling it as it is far too important to us.”

Asked whether the champagne was still drinkable (It probably tastes horrible ^_^), Peter McKay which handles public relations for Torosay castle, said: “I don’t think that question will ever be answered. It is so valuable to Veuve Clicquot in France that they are going to keep it exactly as it is.”

Though, if I were Mr James I would ask for unlimited free champagne !
