The Urwerk Champagne Supernova is a limited edition twist on Urwerk’s UR-110 Torpedo watch launched early this year.
The radiant and very nice looking color comes from a coating of Zirconium Nitride on the bezel, which provides the distinctive pale gold hue that gives rise to the “Champagne Supernova” nickname.
Zirconium Nitride is a high-performance ceramic coating that provides superb scratch, wear and corrosion resistance.
Urwerk have unleashed the “Black Cobra,” the newest model of the CC1 series.
Urwerk’s “Black Cobra” gets its name from “shedding” of its grey gold case into something a little darker and a whole lot more menacing.
Urwerk achieved this artistic transformation by treating the grey gold with Aluminum Titane Nitride (AlTiN).
Urwerk shows the time on two separate horizontal lines–one for the hour and the other for the minute.
The UR-202 Hammerhead, designed by Urwerk, brings a bunch of innovative features to an accessory that hasn’t changed that much in about a century.
The first thing you’ll notice is that the time on the UR-202 is displayed using telescopic minute hands operating through the middle of three orbiting and revolving hour satellites.
The telescopic minute hands precisely adjust their length to follow the three vectors marking the minutes: 0 -14, 15 – 44, 45 – 60. Extended, they enable the UR-202 to display the time across a large easy-to-read, dial. Retracted, they allow for a very wearable and comfortably sized case; thus providing the wearer with the best of both worlds.
The watch is powered by kinetic energy; it winds itself as you move your wrist around. Kinetic watches work best when they’re wound with gentle and consistent motion.
The UR-202 is also the world’s first wristwatch featuring an innovative new winding system regulated by compressing air utilizing minature turbines. The turbines act as shock absorbers, using air pressure to cushion the movements of the rotor. A switch on the back of the watch lets you adjust the air pressure passing through the turbines to compensate for “vigorous” and “extreme” activity.
