$88 million superyacht with helipad

Billionaires and other fans of seagoing style will be hanging out in Monaco this week to shop for superyachts like the Silver Fast, a sleek, floating luxury hotel that comes with an outdoor cinema, sauna, beauty salon, gym, and helipad for the price of US$88 million.

At the 25th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, 121 superyachts with a total value of $3.3 billion will be on display for the 33,000 visitors who will be in the tony principality shopping for the latest water toy.

One of the stars of the show will be the Silver Fast, a sleek, silver bullet of a vessel singled out by Boat International as the most anticipated launch and the biggest new superyacht of the show.

Silver Fast Superyacht

Stretching 77 meters in length, the yacht can sleep 18 guests in eight cabins and reaches top speeds of up to 29 knots.

The vessel from Australia-based SilverYachts, is billed as the world’s largest and fastest aluminum motor yacht, with conventional propulsion in terms of length to speed ratio.

For the yachtless layman, however, it’s the interior features that offer the most wow factor. The sun deck, for instance, comes with an outdoor movie cinema and a glass-fronted eight-person jacuzzi.

The beach club comes with a full spa, including sauna, steam room, gym, massage room and beauty salon.

A bit chilly? No problem. The ‘winter garden’ is built with wraparound sliding glass panels for indoor, terrace dining.

And because, ‘what’s a superyacht without a place to park your helicopter?’ there’s a spot for that too.

Last week, in a collaboration with Mercedes Benz, SilverYachts aired a promotional ad at the Frankfurt Motor Show, showing the luxury car parked on the yacht’s helipad as the vessel sped across the waters at 20 knots.

Blue Bird SuperYacht

Colorful Luxury Yachts by Vasily Klyukin

Blue Bird SuperYacht

SUPERYACHTS are getting a makeover, thanks to Russian entrepreneur Vasily Klyukin. The businessman is shaking up the jetset world with six striking yacht concepts, each based on an instantly recognizable theme.

White Swan Yacht

The series includes the “Red Shark“, a contemporary design featuring bold contours and sharp angles which represent the most terrifying of all water creatures. The 75-meter long, four-deck piece certainly makes an impact.

“There are no dolphins in the big money world, the sharks are all over the place, and if you see the yacht over 50 meters, you can be sure it’s owned by a business shark,” jokes Klyukin.

The luminous “Manhattan” is more serene, giving the impression of an illuminated floating skyline capped by a replica of the Empire State Building.

Manhattan Yacht

Conversely, the nostalgic “Mississippi” yacht features a retro design inspired by the paddle steamers of Mark Twain’s era, featuring an eye-catching glass and metal central wheel design detail.

The magnificent “Mondrian” is fairly similar to a traditional yacht in terms of form, but its bold geometric colors make sure it stands out.

“Mondrian inspired Yves Saint Laurent, Lola Prusak, the architects and designers all around the world,” explains Klyukin, who wanted to pay homage to the Dutch modernist.

The “White Swan” is one of the most avant-garde designs, featuring a retractable neck which leads to a hidden open-air breakfast area.

Meanwhile “Blue Bird” resembles a sports car with its streamlined physique and sharp contours.

Among the innovative and green technologies aboard the Ocean Paradise is a system that reabsorbs greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit their dispersion in the marine environment. Benetti used a brand new coating on the hull of the yacht, reducing resistance in the water and thus enhancing fuel efficiency. The boat is lit with next-generation LED lights, also an optimal choice for energy efficiency.
