Porsche 911 Speedster Sold Out

All of the 356 Porsche Speedsters planned for production already have owners, despite the fact that the model has just being launched at the 2010 Paris Show.

Even with the high price of EUR201,682 ($263,667), all the cars have been sold ahead of the original planned dealership launch in December this year.

Peugeot RCZ Asphalt special edition

French automaker Peugeot had just revealed a second special edition for the 2010 model year based on their latest RCZ sports car.

Dubbed Asphalt, it follows the RCZ Limited Edition that was launched in September 2009. This version will too be produced in a limited number of units.

The Peugeot RCZ features various styling updates, including a dark gray / black matte exterior paint finish.

Porsche To Offer “Hybrid Of Every Model”

Porsche is planning to create a hybrid version of every model it sells, the luxury automaker has confirmed.

In a further signal that sports car manufacturers are getting serious about reducing their emissions, Porsche’s Wolfgang Duerheimer told Automotive News that “in the future, we will have a hybrid drive in every model line.”

The automaker already produces a hybrid version of the Cayenne, its large SUV, and its new CEO Matthias Muller revealed at the Paris Motor Show that the company has produced a plug-in version of its Panamera sedan.

Ferrari recalls 1,250 cars after some catch fire

Ferrari announced Wednesday it had recalled all versions of its model 458 Italia sports car produced before July 2010 after four of them caught fire.

“Our dealers are going to call clients and tell them to bring back their cars so that the necessary modifications can be carried out,” a spokesman told AFP. The recall involves 1,248 vehicles worldwide, the official said.

Ferrari last week opened an enquiry after four of its vehicles caught fire spontaneously in California, China, France and Switzerland.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Debuts At Pebble Beach

The fastest production car recently made its North American debut at the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Bugatti in a new blue midnight color.

Though the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is capable of reaching 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph), its speed has been electronically limited to 415 km/h (258 mph).

Bugatti says the consumer vehicle will have identical specs, but the limitation was necessary to protect the car’s tires.
