Frank Miller’s Gucci Guilty Advert Trailer

Gucci have hired Frank Miller (Sin City, 300, The Spirit) to helm a new television commercial to promote Gucci Guilty — apparently the new fragrance for her.

The Frank Miller spot stars Chris Evans of the Fantastic Four films and Evan Rachel Wood from HBO’s True Blood with music provided by Friendly Fires.

This is just a tease but the Frank Miller aesthetic, seen onscreen in “Sin City” and “Spirit,” is on full display here.

Ralph Lauren Launches Big Pony Fragrance Collection

Ralph Lauren has launched a new line of men’s fragrances dubbed the Big Pony collection.

The collection takes inspiration from the designer’s Big Pony shirts embroidered with an oversize version of Ralph Lauren’s signature polo-player logo.

The collection of four fragrances – labeled one to four – represent four key passions: Sport, Seduction, Adventure and Style.

Perfume flacon sells at auction for €45,600

An engraved Guerlain bottle from 1870 fetched the record sum of €45,600 at an auction in the city of Arcachon, in the southwest of France.

The flacon, engraved with the house’s original address, Rue de la Paix, was initially expected to fetch €20,000 to €30,000.

Organized by Arcachon auction house Toledano, the sale took place in the presence of French fragrance expert Bernard Gangler.

Video: Hermes’ New Scent Inspires Travel

Hermés are releasing their new perfume, Voyage D´Hermés, in April. It’s one of their Romans fragrances, a line designed to reinterpret the brand’s essence.

Created by in-house perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, Voyage d’Hermès is an accentuated composition of fresh wood and musk.

The bottle, designed by Philippe Mouquet, is modeled after a portable vintage magnifying glass, its aluminum part swings on an axis to cover the atomizer.

But it is the film and advertising campaign that takes the fantasy of travel and Hermès’s style to their most beautiful extreme.

Lanvin launches rosy spring perfume in 2010

Lanvin has announced the release of an update of its Jeanne fragrance, the label’s creative director Alber Elbaz’s hommage to founder Jeanne Lanvin.

The limited-edition Jeanne La Rose will be “more romantic” and “more couture” than its predecessor, according to the brand.

Rose essence is a universal ingredient in perfumery, and rose scent-dominated fragrances have always been popular.
