Asia-Pacific consumers are the world’s most prolific online shoppers and many rely on Internet reviews when making purchases according to Nielsen.
The firm said 35 percent of consumers in the region used over 11 percent of their monthly spending to make online purchases, compared to a global average of 27 percent of consumers.
South Koreans were the heaviest online buyers in Asia, with 59 percent directing more than 11 percent of their monthly spending to online purchases, followed by 41 percent in China, Nielsen said in a report.
Following in the footsteps of competitors like Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci, Prada will launch an online boutique for US customers.
Unfortunately you can’t buy Prada clothing on the site but you can pick up purses, accessories and eyewear.
The store is set to open this Thursday, July 1. Prada will shortly expand the E-Store service to another strategic market, Japan.

Online designer store Net-Ã -Porter has finally confirmed the launch of a men’s division: Mr Porter will open in January, but you can already register online.
The site will launch for the S/S 2011 season, with an edited line-up which includes global designer labels and niche brands, as well as editorial and style advice.
Mr. Porter will feature brands such as Burberry, Ralph Lauren, YSL, Gucci, Margiela, Balmain, Margaret Howell, Rick Owens, John Lobband and Dunhill.
