For London Fashion Week, the Victoria and Albert Museum of art and design will present an “anthology of hats” bringing together more than 300 pieces from around the world.
This exhibition, a collaboration between the V&A and the radical hat designer Stephen Jones, will open on February 24 and will be arranged in four main themes, following the life of a hat through the stages of inspiration, creation, the salon, and on, to the client who wears it.

London’s Victoria & Albert Museum is currently hosting a rather decadent exhibition, of luxury lost called the Magnificence of the Tsars.
This exhibition illustrates Russia’s relationship with her past and with Europe through two centuries of men’s court dress.
It is curated and mounted by the Moscow Kremlin Museums. Together with the Armoury Chamber, they form Russia’s oldest national treasury, founded in 1806.

Cleopatra’s palace sank long ago into the Mediterranean, but visitors to Alexandria, Egypt, may eventually view the complex’s remnants via the world’s first underwater museum.
A site for the museum has been proposed near the New Library of Alexandria, where the famed queen of Egypt is believed to have sheltered herself with her lover Marc Antony before taking her own life.
In early September the United Nations cultural agency, UNESCO, announced it is funding a team to determine if such a museum would damage the submerged artifacts.

A man has sold an elaborate tattoo of the Virgin Mary, which is still on his back, to an art collector who plans to ‘exhibit’ him three times a year.
The extraordinary transaction – which Zurich gallery owner Jutta Nexdorf claims is the first of its kind, earned the vendor, Tim Steiner, 150,000 euros ($218,000).
The tattoo was designed by Belgian artist Wim Dalvoye and took 35 hours to create. In return Steiner is required to exhibit the work three times a year in public and private shows.
