Set to open in Milan in 2010 is the Armani Hotel, situated in Via Manzoni, one of the most prestigious streets in Milan’s fashion district.
The designer’s name will become muse to ninety-five luxurious guest rooms, a gourmet restaurant and Armani Spa.
The hotel will occupy floors two to eight of the historic building, which was built by architect Enrico A Griffini in 1937.

David and Victoria Beckham were planning to buy the famous Castle Sforzesco in Milan according to reports, but they have been told they can’t.
Victoria’s plans were to invest in the castle and make it the family home, but still keep the museum open in order to make a financial return.
However, it seems that they have failed to win this bid on the gorgeous 15th century castle that now houses artworks by Michelangelo and Da Vinci.

Following its successful participation in previous years, Lexus will be returning to the 2009 Milan Design Week with an art exhibition entitled “Lexus L-finesse - crystallised wind”, a combination of Lexus L-Finesse design philosophy and the very finest in contemporary art, architecture and design elements from Japan.
The exhibition will take place in Milan’s Museo della Permanente art gallery, from April 22nd to 26th , as part of the world’s largest design exhibition, the Salone del Mobile di Milano.
Sou Fujimoto, a ground-breaking Japanese architect, will re-interpret the ambivalence of the Lexus design philosophy ‘L-finesse’ through a dynamic installation that combines unity in space, sound and lighting.

Italian lighting manufacturer Kundalini have released some preview images of their new Homology Floor Lamp that has been designed by Giorgio Gurioli.
The lamp will be on display at the 2009 Euroluce Lighting Exhibition in Milan, Italy.

One probably doesn’t immediately think of a MINI as a car to take on a camping trip. It is far too urban a model for that.
But MINI and Airstream have collaborated on this design, created by Danish furniture maker Republic of Fritz Hansen, that will bring a little style to the old trailer park.
The first spotting will be at the Salone del Mobile show and the INTERNI DESIGN ENERGIES exhibition in Milan, Italy (April 21-30 2009).
