After months of speculation, scheduling and test shoots, the first Spring 2009 Louis Vuitton ads have been revealed, starring none other than Madonna.

The result is six atmospheric pictures of a smoldering Madonna by Steven Meisel that will break in a range of fashion magazines in February. “It’s a big change from what we were doing.

It tells a story,” said Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications. “This I think is an amazing coup, but more than that, there’s real logic behind it. It’s very linked to Marc’s fashion show.” [..]

Madonna has signed a deal worth $10m to become the face of Louis Vuitton’s 2009 spring/summer ad campaign.

The ads are expected to be racy as Meisel was the photographer behind the images for Madonna’s notorious 1992 book ‘Sex’, which was released as an accompaniment to her fifth studio album Erotica.

Madonna is no stranger to ad campaigns having previously starred in ads for Gap, H&M, Versace and Max Factor.

Last month the original James Bond, Sean Connery, was photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton’s Core Values ad campaign. Connery was shot lounging around in the Bahamas.

It’s safe to say this this hasn’t been such a great week for our dear Madonna. But look on the bright side – Guy may be gone, but the pop superstar is reportedly being courted as the next face of Louis Vuitton!

The $250,000 bass guitar, The Ritter Royal Flora Aurum, was built by Jens Ritter, a luthier, or stringed instrument maker, from Germany.

This luxurious bass has a body carved from a rare, solid piece of maple while the nut is carved from 10,000-year-old mammoth ivory.

The fingerboard is decorated with a floral inlay pattern made of 24-karat gold. There’s even a black diamond set in platinum decorating each leaf.

Madonna has turned to Chopard to create the custom diamond knuckle ring that reads “M-dolla” and the Happy Diamonds cross she wears on the cover of her new and much anticipated album “Hardy Candy.” Designed by Chopard co-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele herself, the ring features 258 brilliant cut white diamonds with the signature Chopard floating diamonds in the flourish of the letter M. This is the second partnership between Chopard and Madonna; their first was the pave diamond “Hung Up” necklace the Pop Queen wore onstage from her “Confessions on a Dance Floor” album.

The “Hard Candy” album cover has a WWE-like wrestling theme with Madonna wearing a black leotard, thigh-high black boots, a WWE-like wrestling title belt, black gloves and, of course, the Chopard M-dolla ring and the diamond Chopard cross with 3 diamonds.
