Scotland base whisky maker The Macallan will produce an ultra-exclusive limited edition bottling of precious whisky distilled in 1946 as part of its upcoming Albert Watson collaboration, priced at $16,000 apiece.
The offering stems from the Macallan’s Masters of Photography series, which the Scottish-born Watson is helming in its second iteration.
Only 36 bottles of the rare 64-year-old single malt Scotch will be available early next year along with a one-of-a-kind platinum print from Watson’s project for the distillery.
Iconic luxury brands The Macallan and Lalique have produced a one-of-a-kind decanter, created by the ancient “cire perdue” or “lost wax” method.
The Macallan in Lalique Cire Perdue decanter, created to celebrate the 150th René Lalique’s birth, contains a 64 years old Macallan single malt whisky.
The decanter has been designed at Lalique’s Design Studio in Paris, based upon a ship’s decanter of the 1820’s, the decade in which The Macallan was founded.
Recently, Macallan unveiled an exquisite whisky cabinet handcrafted from English Burr Oak, by Viscount Linley.
It was produced solely for Harrods and contains six bottles of vintage Macallan malt whisky from 1937, 1940, 1948, 1955, 1966 and 1970.
It is handcrafted from English Burr Oak and also includes six bespoke Linley crystal tumblers as well as a cigar humidor.

The Macallan in Lalique Finest Cut decanter contains an exceptionally rare 57 years old single malt whisky valued at $15,000.
