Last week Valentino opened its first flagship store in South America, inaugurating a shop in Sao Paulo.

The new 190 square-meter (2,045 square-foot) store is located within the Citade Jardim luxury mall in Sao Paulo and features both women’s and men’s apparel and accessories, including bags and shoes.

“The store and the workshop are an important step, a foundational decision, indicating that we look ahead with optimism,” said Hamdi Chatti, Director of the group’s jewelry and watches divisions, as quoted by Reuters.

The new 800-square-meter store is designed as part-showroom, part-tourist attraction and occupies a central location in one of Paris’s most desirable streets, the Avenue George V.

Among the retail store’s gleaming white walls and large display screens are several BMW models, ranging from sports cars to sedans, which visitors can get close to.

As an exclusive for the store, three special-order tea trunks carrying tea sets designed by Hsiao Fan Pottery Art were made. Each was sold for 1.7 million Taiwan dollars ($40,000) during a shopping preview for VIP clients.

The BMW Group has opened the world’s largest showroom for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and BMW motorcycles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Motors, the BMW Group’s long-standing importer for the region, has invested around AED 300 million (approx. $82 million) in the new 35,000-square-metre showroom over its three-year construction.

Located in Umm Al Nar, it offers 172 parking spaces for customers and 120 work bays for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles.

Versace First Kids Store

Italian fashion house Versace recently opened its first boutique in Milan dedicated to kids’ line Young Versace, geared toward boys and girls from 0 to 12 years old.

Young Versace is located on the ground floor of the company’s headquarters on Via Borgospesso and is quite small at 538 square feet.

The store will offer the line’s inaugural Spring 2012 collection, which includes zipper-detailed tops, studded hoodies and skirts with the brand’s key motif.

Luxury watch superstore to target Chinese in Paris

Luxury Swiss retail giant Richemont, owner of such brands as Cartier, Piaget and Jaeger-LeCoultre, is to open the world’s largest shop for luxury watches in Paris.

Business Montres quoted an internal memo saying a three-storey 2,200 square metre (24,000 square foot) shop would open early 2013.

The shop would take over the premises of the landmark Old England shop near the Place Vendome, famous for its luxury watch shops and hugely popular with Middle Eastern and Asian tourists, in particular Chinese.
