The devil may well wear Prada, but at a biennial exhibition of sacred art in Italy, a statue of the Virgin Mary is donning Louis Vuitton.
The veil traditionally covering the Virgin’s head bears the French luxury brand’s trademark “LV” logo in golden letters.
Francesco De Molfetta, 31, said he created the work to “denounce a society based on the cult of appearance through the use of a brand that represents the search for ephemeral happiness.”

French luxury designer Louis Vuitton opened its first boutique in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Thursday.
“For many years, the maison has maintained strong relations with Lebanese clientele and is proud to reiterate its engagement by offering a new store which respects the Beirutis’ heritage and patrimony,” said brand executive manager Yves Carcelle at the opening, which was attended by Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
Louis Vuitton commissioned local artist Marwan Rechmaoui to construct a special installation depicting images of Beirut for its storefronts.

Louis Vuitton unveiled its revamped luxury Saint-Tropez store on 18-June 2010 and launched an exclusive beach bag to celebrate.
The store has been doubled in size with the integration of an adjoining space–a former house of pottery–on rue Georges Clemenceau.
It features interiors inspired by classic Mediterranean glamour: wooden displays, stone floors and sunlight flooding in through large windows that open onto a private garden paved with Provencal briquettes and Mediterranean plants.

There’s only six days to go until the end of the World Cup. But Paris Hilton obviously feels she needs at least one suitcase full of clothes every day.
As she headed off to South Africa for the final stages of the cup last week the heiress posed atop more than a dozen designer suitcases.
She obviously has a passion for Louis Vuitton - the vast collection of bags all bore the designer’s unmistakable logo.

Following Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel ‘tattooing’ their models last fall, Louis Vuitton got into the fake ink game during the recent men’s fashion week.
Designer Marc Jacobs reportedly asked his personal tattooist, the artist Scott Campbell, to come up with spray-ons inspired by the iconic LV monogram, which were worn across models’ necklines, much like ‘tattooed-on’ scarves.
Campbell also customized some of the leather bags seen on Vuitton’s runway.
