Ferrari 360 Limo

This Ferrari 360 Modena limousine was created by cutting a regular 360 Modena in half and adding seats in the middle to provide interior room for eight people.

There is one large flat screen on-board plus several smaller screens set into the head rests. It also has a state of the art sound system and fibre optic disco lighting.

Estimated at £250,000 ($390,000), this is the fastest limousine in the world – it can hit a top speed of 166 mph.

Daimler to kill ultra-luxury Maybach in 2013

Ultra-luxury automotive brand Maybach will be killed off by parent Daimler within two years, according to reports.

The Maybach brand, one of the world’s most prestigious luxury names and a favorite of business tycoons, footballers and government officials the world over, could be shuttered in favor of top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models by 2013.

A Daimler spokesman reportedly said Friday that production will end when the company introduces a new generation S model in its main Mercedes-Benz range.

Rapper Birdman, also known as Bryan Williams, has reportedly spent $8,000,000 on the one-off Maybach Exelero coupe.

The car combines the elegance and first-class quality of a high-end limousine with the powerful suppleness of a sports coupe.

It was born as a high-profile demonstrator commissioned by Fulda for its series tire line – 315/25 ZR 23, licensed for speeds of more than 350 km/h (217 mph).

Mercedes relaunches premium Maybach in India

German carmaker Mercedes Benz reintroduced its hyper-luxury Maybach car in India on Tuesday, pitching it at the country’s growing number of super-rich.

The car, which can touch speeds of 275 kilometres (170 miles) an hour, will be priced at up to 51 million rupees ($1.1 million).

“There are customers out there who can afford the unparalleled luxury of this car,” said Mercedes Benz India chief executive Peter Honegg at the launch, saying the company was aiming its cars at those who can afford private jets.

Citroen Metropolis Concept inspired by China

The French carmaker has just unveiled today the Citroen Metropolis concept which will be premiered at the Shanghai World Fair from 1st of May 2010.

Created by Citroën‘s international design team – based in Shanghai since 2008 – Citroën Metropolis will be on show in the French Pavilion at the Shanghai World Fair from 1st May to 31st October, 2010.

The Citroen Metropolis is a big luxury sedan with a wheelbase bigger than both the Audi A8 or Mercedes S-Class and it just so happens to follow the debut of the BMW long-wheelbase 5 series at the Beijing Motor Show.

President Obama wants hybrid limo

President Obama said last week that contrary to his requests and due to security reasons, his presidential limousine could not be a hybrid vehicle.

“I asked can we make these cars hybrids,” Obama said at a town hall in Charlotte, North Carolina last friday.

“Secret Service said no. Now, the reason is not because Secret Service are bad guys. It’s because the cars that I’m in are like tanks.”
